2012 jaguar xf Overview

The exterior of the 2012 Jaguar XF features a revised grille, hood, and front fenders, which incorporates new triangular side vents. The supercharged version gets louvers featuring the supercharged script, while the headlamps now incorporate bi-function HID xenon technology. For 2012, Jaguar will offer the XF in three new exterior colors with a new set of alloy wheels size 18" to 20
The Jaguar XF has rightly been recognized as a quintessential Jaguar sedan. - Ian Callum, Design Director, Jaguar Cars.
The "Jaguar XF" is powered by a 5.0 liter V8 engine offered in both natural and supercharged versions. In the natural version, the engine delivers a total of 385 HP, while the supercharged version gets either 470 or 510 HP (for the XF-R version).
The Jaguar XF can easily do battle with models like the BMW 5-Series and the Audi A6.
The 2012 Jaguar XF is a thrilling luxury saloon if class, sophistication, elegance and uniqueness is what you’re after.
The entry price into the "Jaguar XF" range has now dropped to just $78,990 for the new 2.2-litre diesel, which means it can effectively compete with (and beat) the Germans on price.
Easily ahead of its German riavls. Despite being owned by India’s Tata Motors, Jaguar still designs, engineers and builds its cars in the UK. To begin the drive, I jumped behind the wheel of an entry-model Jaguar XF 2.2-litre diesel. Apart from the gorgeous exterior, the XF’s interior is also where it outdoes its rivals.
Answering that question, Jaguar’s chief program engineer, Andy Whyman, said the car is inherently designed to have the drivability, performance and agility of Jaguar, which is at its heart, a sportscar company.
The 2.2-litre "Jaguar XF" is the most fuel efficient model in the company’s history. The 2.2-litre variants are equipped with intelligent start-stop technology that shuts down the engine when the vehicle is stationary. The system works by quickly turning the engine off when the Jaguar XF has stopped. To restart the engine, you simply release the brake pedal or move the steering wheel. There is never a wait for the engine to restart.
In Jaguar’s case, its start-stop technology takes the idea further. One of the unique features of the Jaguar XF is the ‘easy-off’ system. Dynamically, the 2.2-litre diesel XF is a well-balanced and engineered vehicle.
Driven hard around the German countryside, the 2.2-litre engine provides more than enough power to keep the vehicle moving at speed. If you’re an audiophile, you can option your Jaguar XF with a 17-speaker Bowers & Wilkins 1200W audio system, which is simply insane. The entry model XF comes with Alcantara / Bond Grain Leather facings, electric driver’s/passenger’s adjustment, dual zone climate control, 17″ alloy wheels, cruise control with speed limiter, bi-xenon headlamps, LED DRLs, bluetooth connectivity, 7″ full colour touch screen, 10 speaker 400wW Jaguar sound system, 3-spoke leather steering wheel with paddles, keyless start, TFT display in the instrument cluster and rear parking sensors standard.
Depending on how good of a job Jaguar Australia does in getting the pricing message out, not many will think of the base model XF as a sub-$100,000 car. In summary, the new 2012 Jaguar XF has been blessed with a significant range of updates to the exterior, interior and under the bonnet. There is no doubt the 2012 Jaguar XF is going to keep the Germans awake at night.
A high-performance XFR version is offered.
Exterior
The XF has front fender vents similar to the XK's. Exterior features include:
Standard steel/alloy body material
Standard trunk lid spoiler and side sill extensions (XFR)

2011 Jaguar XJL is one of the best luxury performance sedan

2011 Jaguar XJL Reviews
This huge puppy complex isn’t only exclusive to the animal kingdom as it makes the perfect metaphor for the 2011 Jaguar XJL.
Our time spent with the largest Jaguar was done so with the non-supercharged XJL. That is much lighter than its biggest competitor, the BMW 740Li which we test drove a few weeks prior to driving the Jaguar XJL. The 2011 XJL is built exclusively at the Castle Bromwich, United Kingdom plant. It came as a big surprise that this Jaguar is actually a Jaguar and not a heavily modified Ford. Matched to six speed automatic with manual shift mode, the XJL felt faster than the BMW in more ways than one. Where the BMW makes an engineered mechanical noise, the Jaguar emits nothing but pure, organic muscle that would make any NASCAR fan proud. For being built in-house by Jaguar themselves, this engine is absolutely fantastic.
At 206 inches, the Jaguar XJL is six inches longer than a Nissan Quest Minivan and nearly 30 inches longer than a Ford Focus. The touch screen control panel, which operates the navigation, stereo controls and auxiliary integration needs to be revamped if the Jaguar XJL ever plans to beat its competition.
At the end of the day, the 2011 Jaguar XJL isn’t as developed or refined as the BMW 740Li. It may lack the controls and long distance comfort of the BMW, but the Jaguar isn’t a bad car. The Jaguar also offers more standard features than the BMW and carries them in a much more elegant fashion.
.To find out, we took a long-wheelbase Jaguar XJL to Key Largo’s Ocean Reef Yacht Club for their 16th Annual Vintage Weekend. A four-door saloon, er, sedan long under development before Ford decided to bail on its Premier Automotive Group holdings that included Land Rover, Aston Martin, Volvo, and Jaguar, it is the latest from longtime auto designer Ian Callum.
As tested, ours was the Jaguar XJL, which is a long wheelbase take on an already smashing executive car. New materials head off the field of breakthroughs for the Jaguar XJL. The inside is part and parcel of the new Jaguar. With a sport-oriented front dashboard area that looks as though it belongs inside a sporty Jaguar XK rather than Jaguar XJ, it is clear that the intention is to present an interior of a sports/driver’s car rather than a family sedan. Now equipped with direct injection with a variable intake manifold, it is also available with Eaton twin vortex superchargers in XJ Supercharged and XJ Supersport models.
The Jaguar XJ engines have 15,000-mile service intervals with no-cost maintenance for five years or 50,000 miles, to boot.
This cat gets its power to the pavement through the Jaguar Sequential Shift six-speed electronic automatic transmission. A Sport Mode remaps the shift points and holds gears longer under heavy acceleration.
The crowd that this Jaguar XJL runs with, all possess lofty price tags that match their capabilities. 2011 Jaguar XJL base price, $78,650. Driver Assistance Pack, $1,000; Bowers and Wilkins audio, $2,200; Destination, $850.
The new XJ L offers a modern interpretation of a number of key XJ design cues while maintaining the highest standard of personal luxury. The all-new Jaguar XJ L’s beauty is much more than skin deep. In naturally aspirated form, the XJ L’s engine develops 380lb.ft. With the XJ L, Jaguar has built upon its leading quality performance using the latest virtual product technologies. These proven Jaguar dynamic technologies are taken to new higher levels in the all-new XJ L. The rear independent multi-link setup features self-leveling air springs, dynamic adaptive real-time shock absorbers and a stabilizer bar. Front and rear suspension isolated cradles increase handling performance and lessen noise, vibration and harshness. Up front are 14.2in. discs clamped with four-piston calipers, while the rear setup features 13.2in. Braking control and power are enhanced with standard ABS, EBD, BA, Electronic Stability Control and Traction Control.
The all-new 2011 Jaguar XJ L is one of the finest luxury performance long wheelbase sedans on the market today.

2012 Jaguar XK

The new 2012 Jaguar XK features revised slimmer headlights with subtle LEDs. At the rear, "2012 XK" also features LED technology built in the taillights.
The interior boasts new trim finishes and leather sports seats. The sport version – XKR-S will be delivered in coupe form.
For the interior, Jaguar is offering new trim materials including ebony soft-feel paint for the switches, gloss black finish for the center console, phosphor blue halo illumination and ambient lighting.
For the Jaguar XK-R version, the chrome mesh grille has been replaced with black details.
The XK-R version has also received a "Black Pack" option that replaces the exterior chrome with a gloss black finish. This is then complemented by 20-inch gloss black alloy wheels and body colored aerodynamic enhancements.
Under the hood, the engine for the Jaguar XK remains unchanged: a 5.0 Liter V8 that delivers a total of 385 HP and 380 lb-ft of torque. Top speed is limited to 155 mph.
The new Jaguar XK will go on sale later this summer.
Customers interested in the new Jaguar XK should also check out the Aston Martin V8 Vantage or the Audi R8 sports coupe. The V8 Vantage is powered by a 4.7 Liter V8 engine that delivers a total of 420 HP. It can hit a top speed of 187 mph and sprint the Audi from 0 to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds.
The "2012 Jaguar XK" Series receives freshened styling, and a new high-performance model joins the lineup. Base XKs have 385 horsepower, and the supercharged XKR has 510. The XKR and XKR-S have specific interior and exterior trim and brakes. A performance suspension is standard on the XKR-S and optional on the XKR. All models have a navigation system, wireless cell-phone link, and keyless entry/engine start.

2011 Jaguar XK coupe

2011 Jaguar XK coupe Review
Base Jaguar XK coupe and convertible models come loaded with standard features including a 7-inch touchscreen with navigation system, a 525-watt Bowers & Wilkins audio system, Jaguar Smart Key System and electronic stability control. Limited to just 175 Jaguar XK coupes, Ultimate Black exterior combines with a Warm Charcoal interior. New for 2011, the Jaguar XK a Technology Package features high-tech items like adaptive cruise control.
The XK coupe offers remarkable luxury in base trim and in top-of-the-line XKR trim, world-class power and performance.
Jaguar is confident that it got the XK right. The factory is 13 color choices away from churning out an endless parade of identical cars. Included on the cheapest Jaguar XK you can buy are navigation, satellite radio, 16-way power seats—heated and cooled—a heated steering wheel, keyless entry and go, and a 525-watt Bowers & Wilkins stereo with an in-dash six-disc changer and a USB input. We were positively floored when we looked at this car’s window sticker and saw not a single option listed. Entry-Level Excellence
This Jaguar’s standard excellence extends beneath that long, elegant hood, too. The engine’s tremendous flexibility is reflected in its passing-acceleration times: 30–50 mph in 2.5 seconds, 30–70 in 3.6. The base XK rides on the same suspension as the more sporting XKR, which helps explain the cars’ essentially identical skidpad figures: 0.92 for the XKR vs. 0.91 for the XK seen here. The one demerit that both cars share is the size of the interior. Even if the resultant space increase is minimal, it’s still an increase, and any bump in insurance rates from ditching two seats would be irrelevant to people shopping the XK.
The Jaguar XK is a stunning car to look at, to be inside, and to drive. The only way Jaguar saw fit to make the everyday XK better was to fortify it with this bigger engine. We agree.
There are few changes to the 2011 Jaguar XK coupe and convertible. Other additions for the line of 2011 XK models this year include a heated windshield, revised interior trim, adaptive cruise control and, for the XKR, the red brake calipers that come standard on the XKR175.
The current-generation Jaguar XK heads into its fifth year of production with little substantial change save for the introduction of the limited-edition XKR175 Coupe. It's a similar story for the supercharged Jaguar XKR, which boasts 510 hp, some 10 hp more than the mighty Porsche 911 Turbo. Certainly the XK isn't wanting for power, and Jaguar backs it up with exceptional road manners. The 2011 Jaguar XK is available in coupe and convertible body styles, with each offered in XK and XKR trim levels. The new XKR175 is available only as a coupe. Standard equipment on the base car includes 19-inch alloy wheels, bi-xenon headlights, front and rear parking sensors, keyless ignition/entry, leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, heated power tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, heated and cooled front seats and automatic dual-zone climate control. The convertible features a power-retractable soft top and power rear windows.
Options include interior piano black wood veneer, HD radio, a heated windshield, active headlights and adaptive cruise control (which is packaged with active headlights for XK models). Optional on the XKR are 20-inch wheels, red brake calipers (coupe only) and different interior veneers and body colors.
The XKR175, available only in black, adds unique 20-inch wheels, front and rear spoilers, side sills, a rear diffuser, red brake calipers, limited-edition door sill plates and special interior trim.
The 2011 Jaguar XK is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 that produces 385 hp and 380 pound-feet of torque. The XKR drops to 15/22/17 mpg.

2011 Jaguar XJ Supersport Reviews

2011 Jaguar XJ Supersport .a wondrous luxury cruiser--with a serious sledgehammer under the hood. The extra power creates a positively lithe machine, able to tuck into bends without drama and flick back and forth through the lanes without effort. Steady, sporty and strong.
Secure the keys to an XJ Supersport, blindfold your passenger and seat him shotgun, then drive him (with a bit of urgency, mind you) down the nearest stretch of serpentine road. We guarantee you, he won't respond with "Jaguar XJ." In our defense, the XJ Supersport's supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 does churn out 510 horsepower and 461 pound-feet of torque, providing enough urge to propel the XJ from 0 to 60 mph in a claimed 4.7 seconds.
2011 Jaguar XJ Supersport The good: The Bowers and Wilkins stereo in the 2011 Jaguar XJ Supersport produces excellent sound quality, even with low-bit-rate MP3s. The bad: The LCD instrument cluster looks a little flat. The bottom line: The 2011 Jaguar XJ Supersport embodies a high degree of luxury, aided by a stellar audio system.
At the same time, the XJ Supersport is long, 16 feet, 10 inches, with a roomy cabin.
The various buttons feel solid, although Jaguar allowed more plastic pieces in this interior than in the Jaguar XF. Fully digital instruments
In a bold move by Jaguar, the XJ Supersport does away with analog gauges entirely, replacing them with an LCD showing representations of gauges. The left-side dial, which usually shows fuel level and engine temperature, switches to a full-color route guidance display when the car's navigation system is working. Likewise, this dial also shows the current audio source.
For the XJ, Jaguar fixed some of these problems. Also nice is that Jaguar keeps a row of onscreen buttons at the bottom of each screen for access to audio, climate, phone, and navigation.
For us, this Bowers & Wilkins audio system made all types of music extremely pleasurable to listen to in the XJ Supersport.
And the car does not lack for audio sources, bringing in practically every digital device available today. There is Bluetooth streaming audio and there is space on the car's hard drive for music storage.

2011 Jaguar XJ Reviews

2011 Jaguar XJ Reviews
The sportier, more contemporary design direction that revealed itself in the latest Jaguar XK Coupe and Convertible, then the XF Sedan, has now been applied to Jaguar's flagship sedan.
Jaguar is still nagged by historically sub-par resale values and spotty reliability records, so the 2011 Jaguar XJ isn't among the category's smartest buys.
The 2011 Jaguar XJ is available in standard and long-wheelbase versions, with XJL models offering an additional five inches of legroom (but less parking-lot maneuverability).
The old Jaguar XJ was a perfectly modern automobile under the skin, but that skin was nothing more than a rehash of Jaguar's previous 30 years. With the 2011 Jaguar XJ, something radical is exactly what the world gets.
The rear of the 2011 XJ looks like no other rump on the road. The "base" XJ produces 385 horsepower while the supercharged XJ cranks out up to 510 horses.
The 2011 Jaguar XJ is a large luxury sedan available in regular and long-wheelbase (L) four-door body styles. Both are available in three trim levels, which correspond with an engine: XJ, XJ Supercharged and XJ Supersport.
Standard equipment on the XJ includes 19-inch wheels, an adaptive suspension, a panoramic sunroof, automatic xenon headlamps, auto-dimming mirrors, a power-closing trunk lid, keyless ignition/entry, front and rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, dual-zone automatic climate control, power front seats (16-way driver and 12-way passenger) with memory functions, heated and cooled front seats, heated rear seats, a power tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel and leather upholstery. The XJL features different 19-inch wheels than the XJ, plus four-zone automatic climate control, a power rear sunshade, 20-way power front seats with massage function, heated and cooled rear seats, extended leather trim and faux-suede headliner. The XJ Supercharged and XJL Supercharged add to the XJL's equipment 20-inch wheels, adaptive headlights and a 20-speaker Bowers & Wilkins premium surround-sound system. The XJ Supersport and XJL Supersport add different 20-inch wheels and upgraded leather upholstery. Its standard adaptive cruise control, wood-trim wheel and rear seat entertainment system are optional on the other trims.
The 2010 Jaguar XJ is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 that produces 385 hp and 380 pound-feet of torque. As with all XJ models, a six-speed automatic with manual shift control is standard. The 2010 Jaguar XJ Supercharged features a (surprise!) supercharged 5.0-liter V8 good for 470 hp and 424 lb-ft of torque. Jaguar estimates a 0-60 time of 4.9 seconds and combined fuel economy of 18 mpg.
Every 2011 Jaguar XJ comes standard with antilock brakes, stability and traction control, front side airbags, side curtain airbags, active head restraints and a blind spot warning system. Front seat active seatbelts are optional on the XJ and XJL, and standard on the others.
The Jaguar XJ's interior is exquisite; there's really no other way to describe it. As before, the regular-length XJ's backseat is on the small side. Few cars strike such an excellent balance between ride comfort and sporty handling as the 2011 Jaguar XJ.
Poised to pounce and newly transformed, the Jaguar XJ four-door sport sedan screamed out some power chords as we throttled it around Rock and Roll-ish West Hollywood, California.
Penned by Jaguar Director of Design, Ian Callum and his team of designers in Coventry, England, the new XJ draws visual cues from a wide variety of sources. Jaguar Cars managing director Mike O’Driscoll, explained the company’s recent return to the sporting style and culture: “We lost touch with our soul. For forty years, the XJ has served as the quintessential Jaguar. If the outgoing XJ had a North American counterpart, perhaps it would be the Lincoln Town Car. That’s hardly what we call sporty, but neither was the outgoing XJ.
Jaguar’s base offering is a naturally-aspirated engine producing 385 horsepower and 380 lb-ft. of torque. That’s a 28 percent increase over the outgoing 4.2-liter engine from the previous XJ. Finally is the special-order Supersport XJ Supercharged model, making 510 horsepower, and 461 lb-ft. of torque for pure kitty-scaring grunt.
Both supercharged models are on 20-inch tires and governed to 155 mph top speed. Curb weight of the short wheelbase naturally aspirated XJ is 4,045 lbs., while the supercharged models tip in at 4,281 lbs. Add 42 lbs. additional for a long wheelbase model. The base V8 is rated at 16 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway, while the huffed versions are all rated at 15 mpg city and 21 mpg highway. Although the new XJ appears long and lanky like a Rock Star’s girlfriend, its wheelbase is only an inch longer than the model it replaces. Able to constantly change for the different road conditions we encountered, the XJ lived up to Jaguar’s traditional mantra of providing a cossetting ride with a performance touch.
The variable ratio power-assisted steering did a remarkable job of keeping the XJ pointed true especially with the changing road conditions and imperfections.
Jaguar director O’Driscoll smilingly told us that at Jaguar, there is a feeling that “we are that small specialist company who will be known for their sporting cars once again.”
Smooth and capable, this isn’t the Jaguar of yore.
2011 Jaguar XJ base price, $72,500.
2011 Jaguar XJL base price, $79,500.
2011 Jaguar XJ Supercharged base price, $87,500.
2011 Jaguar XJL Supercharged base price, $90,500.
2011 Jaguar XJ Supersport base price, $112,000

2011 Jaguar XF Review

2011 Jaguar XF
Introduced two years ago, the Jaguar XF lineup started a clean break from the overtly traditional Jaguar shapes of the past. Last year, new XF Supercharged and XFR high-performance models were added to the lineup; now for 2011 the XF gets a very substantial 85-hp boost, with a new standard 5.0-liter V-8 replacing the previous 4.2-liter one. Overall, there's nothing heavy-handed or retro about the look of the 2011 Jaguar XF. Stealthy, gripping performance is the XF's calling card. That said, the XF's powertrain itself is sneaky. This year even the base-model 2011 Jaguar XF gets a 385-horsepower, 5.0-liter V-8, while the high-performance XFR and XF Supercharged models get a 5.0-liter supercharged V-8—making 470 hp in the Supercharged and 510 hp in the XFR. Light, direct steering and capable brakes add up to a joyful driving experience, and with 20-inch tires and electronic systems like Active Differential Control and Adaptive Dynamics shuffling power between the rear wheels and adjusting suspension and steering firmness, the 5,000-pound Jaguar XF out-nimbles some of the less weighty sedans in its class. Leather trim is double-stitched, and LED lighting mixes with choice wood and metallic trim to turn the cabin into a most atmospheric space. The Jaguar XF is a sport sedan, with all the features of a luxury sedan.
The Jaguar’s classing V8 engine is availabe in four choices on this model: the 4.2-liter 300 horsepower; the 5.0-liter, 385 horsepower V8; the 5.0-liter, 470 horsepower supercharged V8; and the 5.0-liter, 510 horsepower supercharged V8.
The 2011 model will have loads of standard features, such as a sunroof, rear parking sensors, and rain-sensing windshield wipers.
The interior of the Jaguar is no less opulent. In test drives, the 2011 Jaguar performs admirably. With its unique six-speed automatic transmission, the Jaguar takes corners easily, has great stopping power, and a smooth, suspension-aided ride.
The 2011 Jaguar XF is a rear-wheel drive only vehicle that comes with a six-speed automatic transmission.
The "2011 Jaguar XF" is not your grandmother’s Jaguar. This vehicle is a car that has great handling, and if you’re in the market for a car in this segment, is well worth a test drive. The Jaguar has enough standard and optional luxury features to satisfy the most discriminating taste.
If there is a drawback to this vehicle, it is probably interior room.
The 2011 Jaguar XF is a midsize luxury sedan available in four trim levels: base XF, XF Premium, XF Supercharged and XFR. Standard equipment for the base XF includes 18-inch wheels, halogen headlamps, rear parking sensors, a sunroof, automatic headlights, automatic dual-zone climate control, keyless ignition, leather upholstery and heated 10-way power front seats with driver memory functions. The window shade, heated steering wheel and 19-inch wheels are among the stand-alone options on the base XF.
The XF Supercharged comes standard with a supercharged V8, 20-inch wheels and quad tailpipes. The "2011 Jaguar XF "features three engines in four models, each with a corresponding trim level. The base XF and the XF Premium sport a 5.0-liter V8 that produces 385 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque. Estimates for the supercharged XFR engine are 15/21/17.
Standard safety features include antilock disc brakes with brake assist, stability and traction control, front-seat airbags, front-seat side airbags, side curtain airbags and active front head restraints. A rearview camera and a blind-spot warning system are optional on the base XF and standard on the XF Premium, XF Supercharged and XFR.
Braking performance for the XF lineup is particularly noteworthy.

Jaguar, Rolls Royce, Aston Martin, and Lotus - what do they have in common? If you are thinking they are some of the world's best cars then you are correct. But aside from being the best automobile in the world, these cars are all British cars.
Jaguar gained its worldwide fame during the 1960s because of its drop top roadsters. It is a favorite choice of cars in several films such as Austin Powers. At present, Jaguar is owned by Indian Tata Motors.
Another British car is the Rolls Royce. Regarded as the car of the millionaires, Rolls Royce is known for its class and size. It is often used as limousines by the rich and the famous from all parts of the world. All through the years, Rolls Royce has manufactured expensive and exclusive car models such as Phantom, which is a favorite car by Hollywood celebrities 50 Cent and P Diddy.
