2011 Toyota RAV4 Review
Reviewers call the 2011 Toyota RAV4 one of the most practical and family-friendly SUVs you can buy. The 2011 Toyota RAV4, reviewers say, continues that tradition.
The optional third-row seat also helps the RAV4 stand out. While the RAV4 launched the segment, the competition is starting to catch up. If you like the RAV4, reviewers say you’ll likely be happy with it. The RAV4 is most often compared to the Honda CR-V. Hovever, compared to a four-cylinder RAV4, the CR-V is tough competition.
It beats the RAV4’s base highway fuel economy and has a more up-to-date interior, with more standard features.
The 2011 Toyota RAV4 crossover SUV is available with a fuel-efficient 2.5 liter, four-cylinder engine that racks up a healthy 22 city/28 highway MPG and a slightly less gas stingy V-6 that still logs in an impressive 27 highway MPG.
Pricing should be around $22,750 MSRP for the base model Rav4--All RAV4s buyers can choose between either a front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. The smaller engine has a four-speed automatic standard, while the larger engine has a five-speed automatic as standard and that is available on the smaller engine as an option.
The Base Model RAV4 has a suggested MSRP of $21,925 for the FWD version. The Toyota RAV4 has the most interior room-seating and storage-of any vehicle in its class.
Designed to blend comfort with performance, the 2011 RAV4 features four-wheel independent suspension, a rigid body structure, and enhanced power steering. The positives of the RAV4 are many.
That said, the RAV4 is one of the older designs in the compact crossover segment. The 2011 Toyota RAV4 is a midsize crossover SUV. There are three trim levels available: base, Sport and Limited. The base RAV4 comes standard with 16-inch steel wheels, a limited-slip differential (front-drive models only), air-conditioning, cruise control, full power accessories, keyless entry, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, height-adjustable driver seat and a six-speaker stereo with CD player and auxiliary audio jack. The base V6 4WD adds 17-inch cast-aluminum wheels.
The RAV4 Sport comes standard with 18-inch cast-aluminum wheels, color-keyed bumpers and sportier suspension tuning. The Sport Appearance package that is available on all four-cylinder and V6 4WD Sport models deletes the spare tire mounted on the rear cargo door (the model features run-flat tires instead) and adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated mirrors and chrome exterior details.
All V6 models add hill-start assist and hill-descent control, which are also standard for the RAV4 four-cylinder with the optional third-row seat.
An Upgrade Value package for the base RAV4 includes a sunroof, roof rails, privacy glass, 17-inch cast-aluminum wheels, six-disc CD changer, steering-wheel-mounted audio controls, upgraded cloth upholstery and a cargo cover. The Premium package available on the Sport and Limited trim levels (though not with the third-row seat) adds leather upholstery and an eight-way power driver seat with power lumbar support. V6-powered models can be equipped with a tow package.
The 2011 Toyota RAV4 comes standard with a 2.5-liter inline-4 engine that delivers 179 hp and 172 pound-feet of torque. Fuel economy for this model with front-wheel drive is 22 mpg city/28 mpg highway and 24 mpg combined, and 21/27/24 with 4WD.
The V6 achieves an impressive 19 mpg city/27 mpg highway and 22 mpg combined for the front-wheel-drive RAV4, and these ratings change only by 1 mpg less for EPA highway when the 4WD model is selected.
Every RAV4 trim level can be matched with either front-wheel or four-wheel drive.
Antilock disc brakes, stability control, traction control, whiplash-reducing front headrests, front-seat side airbags and full-length side curtain airbags are standard on every 2011 Toyota RAV4. The RAV4 also performs well in Insurance Institute for Highway Safety tests, earning the top rating of "Good" in both the frontal-offset and side-impact crash tests. The RAV4's interior boasts a clean design with large, simple controls and lots of storage space. Overall interior quality is acceptable, but the Chevy Equinox and Honda CR-V make the RAV's interior look too insubstantial and budget-oriented.
Nevertheless, the "Toyota RAV4" is a model of practicality. The rear seats recline and can slide fore and aft to optimize passenger space or cargo capacity. To configure the RAV4 for cargo, all you need to do is flip a lever on the second-row seats.

Mercedes-Benz named as UK's No.1 Consumer Superbrand
OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE
London, United Kingdom, Feb 28, 2011
Mercedes-Benz has been crowned the UK’s number one Consumer Superbrand for 2011, toppling last year’s winner Microsoft which has dropped into 6th place. This is the first time in five years that the top spot has not been claimed by either Microsoft or Google. The number two spot goes to luxury watch brand Rolex which placed in the same position last year, whilst the BBC has come in 3rd position, having placed in the top five for the last five years.
The annual Consumer Superbrands results follow a robust research process administered independently by The Centre for Brand Analysis, which analysed the views of over 2,000 members of the British public. The annual Consumer Superbrands survey, now in its 12th year, has become a key barometer of the strength of brands across a wide variety of sectors.
Eight of the top ten Consumer Superbrands remain the same as last year and includes British Airways, which despite a very challenging year still retains its place in the hearts of the British public.
Stephen Cheliotis, Chairman of the Expert Council & CEO, The Centre for Brand Analysis comments: “Mercedes-Benz has had a consistently strong performance over the last five years having been in the top ten since 2006, so it’s great to see the brand finally come out on top especially in their 125th anniversary year. This year’s Superbrands 500 features a combination of consistency and volatility, although as ever, those at the top tend to be more consistent performers.”
Wilfried Steffen, President and CEO Mercedes-Benz UK adds: “Winning the Superbrands survey is very special for Mercedes-Benz, and I am delighted that we’ve achieved the coveted number one spot in our 125th year. Everybody in the company is absolutely committed to delivering exceptional levels of customer service, and this survey result shows that these efforts are paying off, because the British public voted for us. Winning Superbrands UK proves that Mercedes-Benz is as desirable now as it ever was, and throughout 2011 we will continue launching a wide range of innovative new products and customer service initiatives across the country.”
The top 10 Consumer Superbrands 2011 are:
Rank 2011 Top 10
1 MERCEDES-BENZ
2 ROLEX
3 BBC
4 COCA-COLA
5 GOOGLE
6 MICROSOFT
7 BMW
8 BRITISH AIRWAYS
9 APPLE
10 JAGUAR
Interestingly, the two new entries into the top ten this year are both automotive brands in the form of BMW in 7th place, and a resurgent Jaguar in 10th. Two brands dropping out of the top ten from last year are LEGO, which falls to 16th place, and Encyclopaedia Britannica which drops down to 30th, both of which are still very credible performances.
Stephen Cheliotis, Chairman of the Expert Council & CEO, The Centre for Brand Analysis comments: “As 2011 looks to be another tough year for consumer brands, the leading Superbrands can hopefully offset the worst of the downturn by stimulating demand and loyalty over and above the levels its rivals command. The management and employees at each of these companies and organisations should be extremely proud of their brand’s ongoing success and status as a Superbrand.”
Concurrent with this survey Superbrands also published the 2011 Business Superbrands listing, which was topped by Rolls-Royce Group.

• Dr. Dieter Zetsche: “This majority stake holding demonstrates our determination to build a long-term Formula 1 involvement on an even more successful platform.”
Daimler AG today announced that, together with Aabar Investment PJS, it has acquired the remaining 24.9 per cent stake in Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix Ltd located in Brackley, UK from the management team led by Team Principal Ross Brawn. Daimler and Aabar together now own 100 per cent of Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix. Daimler has increased its stake from 45.1 per cent to 60 per cent, while Aabar has increased its stake from 30 to 40 per cent. Aabar is the biggest single shareholder of Daimler AG, with nine per cent. The acquisition is conditional on clearance from the German Bundeskartellamt.
On 16 November 2009, Daimler AG acquired a 45.1 per cent stake in Brawn GP, the 2009 world champion team, and together with Aabar held a majority stake of 75.1 per cent.
The acquisition by Daimler AG of a majority shareholding in the Formula 1 team sends a clear signal concerning the long-term ambitions for the company’s premium brand in Formula 1.
“This majority stake holding demonstrates our determination to build a long-term Formula 1 involvement on an even more successful platform,” explained Dr. Dieter Zetsche, CEO of Daimler AG and Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars. “Our company’s founders invented the automobile 125 years ago and the very first Mercedes was a racing car. These are the reasons why we see our Formula 1 programme as an important element of our brand history. The acquisition of a majority stake holding in our Silver Arrows team sends a clear signal that we intend to achieve technical and sporting success on world motorsport’s biggest and most important stage – and to do so in cost-effective conditions.”
His Excellency Khadem Al Qubaisi, Chairman of Aabar Investments PJS continued: “Aabar’s and Daimler’s joint investment in Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix is a further testament to our strong commitment to the sport of Formula 1 and to Aabar’s strategic partnership with Daimler. As Abu Dhabi is increasingly placing itself as a recognised host of international sporting events, and particularly in light of the continuing success of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Aabar is proud to be supporting one of the most successful Formula 1 racing teams in the field. Aabar wishes Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix a successful start to the 2011 season.”
Dr. Thomas Weber, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG responsible for Group Research and Development Mercedes-Benz Cars, and Chairman of the Board of Mercedes Grand Prix Ltd., added: "Our acquisition of the remaining 24.9 per cent together with our partner Aabar underlines our long-term commitment to Formula 1, the pinnacle of motor racing and the best international motorsport platform for demonstrating our willingness to compete and our technical expertise. This step will bring the colleagues from our Formula 1 chassis and engine groups even closer together and thereby help to develop our team step-by-step into a winning Formula 1 outfit. We now also fulfill Ross' wish of being in a position to focus wholly on the complex technical challenges of Formula 1 and on his role as our team principal."
Ross Brawn, Team Principal of Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix commented: “Daimler and Aabar’s acquisition of the remaining 24.9 per cent stake in Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix will be a further step in the consolidation and strengthening of our team for the future. Motor racing, particularly Formula 1, is a very specialised industry, and we are privileged to have such strong and understanding partners as Daimler and Aabar to support our joint ambitions. I remain fully committed to our team for the long-term, along with the management team and all of our employees. We all look forward to the challenge of making our team successful, and proudly representing Mercedes-Benz and the racing tradition of the Silver Arrows.”
Norbert Haug, Vice President of Mercedes-Benz Motorsport stated: “It is a logical step to acquire the remaining 24.9 pr cent of Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix together with our partner Aabar. Daimler and Aabar will be joint owners, in the ratio of 60/40, of our Formula 1 company and Silver Arrows works team. This lays the foundations for a successful long-term involvement at the pinnacle of motorsport.”

Mercedes-Benz Vito wins the Arctic Van Test
OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE
- Independent motoring jury conducts a van test in Finland
- Mercedes-Benz Vito 116 CDI wins first place
- The new Vito performs impressively
Stuttgart, Germany/Finland, Feb 28, 2011 – Even in snow and at extremely low temperatures, the new Mercedes-Benz Vito was able to show its strengths and prevail against its competitors. As in previous years, at the invitation of the Finnish motoring magazine "Auto, tekniikka ja kuljetus", motoring editors from Finland, Sweden and Norway tested vans in the weight class up to three tonnes.
The numerous criteria were divided into familiar categories such as handling, fuel consumption, load capacity and performance, plus aspects specifically relevant to cold regions, e.g. cold-starting ability, heating and mirror/window defrosting.
At the end the new Mercedes-Benz Vito 116 CDI had clearly gained most points, and won the title. This success was aided by the numerous new features with which the new generation has been equipped since September 2010.
The centrepiece is a completely newly developed, particularly economical and environmentally friendly engine, which impresses with its refinement thanks to balancer shafts. The new six-speed ECO Gear manual transmission has a wide ratio spread for excellent performance, as well as low consumption and emission values. The driving dynamics and handling of the Mercedes-Benz Vito benefit from rear-wheel drive. In addition, the new Vito has the benefit of a completely newly developed, optimally configured suspension.
Even more operating convenience, greater comfort and a higher-quality atmosphere round off the list of further developments in the interior of the Vito. Whether the new shift lever, the push-buttons in the upper array of the centre console or the upgraded, optional overhead console – the Vito is more user-friendly than ever.
There are also numerous new exterior highlights on the Mercedes-Benz Vito. New reflector headlamps frame the radiator grille, with the standard daytime running lamps, which have their own light source, and foglamps integrated into the housing.
In the sum of its attributes, the new Vito was able to convince the testers and demonstrate that reliability and robustness are also a matter of course in extreme winter conditions.

smart launches a new international 360° brand campaign: smart fortwo – a big idea for…
OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE
Stuttgart, Germany, Feb 28, 2011 - With the claim "A big idea for…" smart is launching a new international brand campaign which focuses on the uniqueness of the vehicle's concept in an unusual way. Five different stories are the common denominator for all communication activities. Each story demonstrates a feature of the smart fortwo, accompanied by humorous illustrations. They tell how this innovative vehicle improves the quality of life in pulsating cities. As a whole new vehicle concept ahead of its time right from the start, the smart is showing that it is the real city car. Compact, agile and individual as well as economical and with electric drive - all assets of the smart are addressed in the campaign. For example, the smart fortwo is a big idea for "…the city" because it fits in every parking space or for "…more uniqueness" because the individual program smart BRABUS tailor made offers endless possibilities for a unique and individual design and equipment.
Dr. Annette Winkler, Head of smart says "Right from the start smart was ahead of its time: Not just the perfect car for the city with a trendsetting design – it was also "a big idea", a strong vision and a solution for the ever-increasing mobility and environmental problems in growing cities around the world. Almost 13 years after the first smart rolled off the production line approximately 1.25 million vehicles have been sold and it is a familiar part of the city roadscape. Not later than today we have the situation that moved the inventors of the smart to design this most consistent of all city cars that was far ahead of its time. Now the time for the big "smart" idea has finally come, including the electric drive for which provisions were made right from the start – that's what we want to demonstrate with our campaign."
Marc Langenbrinck, Head of Sales & Marketing says "Our new campaign confidently communicates the leadership claim of the brand in the typical smart tongue-in-cheek manner as the inventor of the microcar segment and the best in class. The campaign clearly shows: The smart was, is and will be an icon, a big idea and a benefit for urban quality of life."
The integrated campaign covers all communication channels – from print ads, posters and online banners to TV, online and cinema spots, a Facebook application and trade and dialogue marketing activities. It will also be integrated on the website www.smart.com and on smart's mobile portal. smart markets around the world can select individual measures from the extensive communication package and implement them as required.

2011 Hyundai Tucson Review
The 2011 Hyundai Tucson is a winner by all means. You can take it on-road or off-road, buy a 1.6 Liter Gamma Turbo Inline-4 engine or a 2.4 Liter Theta II Inline-4 engine; but however you cut it, the 2011 Hyundai Tucson is a stylish and smart choice.
Hyundai redesigned the Tucson in 2010, and for 2011, little has changed. The 2011 Hyundai Tucson is very similar to the 2010 model. The Tucson’s price is also hard to turn down. The Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV-4 can’t beat this price. Although it offers a lot of features at an affordable price, there are areas where the 2011 Hyundai Tucson falls short. Few affordable compact SUVs beat the Tucson when it comes to fuel economy, but if you want a few more miles per gallon, the Chevrolet Equinox tops the Tucson and averages 22/32 mpg city/highway.
The Tucson has three trims: GL, GLS and Limited. The GLS and Limited models have a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine and optional all-wheel drive. The upper trims receive a six-speed automatic transmission.
This new base model makes use of a 2.0-liter inline-4 engine instead of the previous 2.4-liter engine.
The 2011 Hyundai Tucson is a five-passenger compact crossover SUV that is offered in three trim levels: GL, GLS and Limited.
The GLS adds 17-inch cast-aluminum wheels, roof rails, heated side mirrors, cruise control, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, leatherette vinyl door trim and seat inserts, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls and Bluetooth. All-wheel-drive GLS models also get heated front seats. The Limited trim goes the extra mile by adding 18-inch cast-aluminum wheels, outside mirrors with integrated turn signals, automatic headlights, foglights, upgraded suspension, front wiper de-icer, leather upholstery, a power-adjustable driver seat with lumbar adjustments, dual-zone automatic climate control, auto-dimming rearview
The 2011 Hyundai Tucson GL comes standard with a 2.0-liter inline-4 engine that produces 165 horsepower and 146 pound-feet of torque. Only front-wheel drive is available for the GL.
The automatic improves these figures to 23/31/26 mpg. The front-wheel-drive GLS and Limited models are expected to get 22 city/31 mpg highway and 25 mpg combined, while AWD models make slightly less at 21/28/23 mpg.
we found its acceleration to be just about average among other compact crossovers, with our test vehicle requiring 9.6 seconds to reach 60 mph.
Standard safety equipment for the "2011 Hyundai Tucso"n includes antilock disc brakes (with brake assist), stability and traction control, active front headrests, front side airbags, side curtain airbags, hill holder and hill descent control.
Unlike many of the humdrum interiors found in other crossover SUVs, the 2011 Hyundai Tucson offers a contoured twin-cowl dash that's available in two-tone color schemes. The Tucson provides a comfortable driving position for drivers of almost any size. The compact Tucson also offers only 55.8 cubic feet of maximum cargo capacity, while both the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4 are rated at more than 70 cubic feet and even the Subaru Forester is rated at 63 cubic feet.
Many compact crossovers offer uninspired driving dynamics, but the 2011 Hyundai Tucson breaks from convention with a more lively spirit.
European-inspired suspension tuning and a well-weighted electric power steering system give the Tucson a sportier feel, but unfortunately, it comes at the expense of ride quality.

2011 Audi A3 Reviews
The 2011 Audi A3 has a lot to offer: a TDI trim with impressive fuel economy, fun driving dynamics and a well-crafted interior. It has a winning combination of quality, sportiness and attractive styling that is a rarity for small car shoppers. In addition to top safety ratings, sporty performance and high quality, Audi offers an optional TDI diesel engine to the mix. Those looking for a car with German roots and available diesel power should check out the Volkswagen Jetta. The Jetta also has a TDI option that’s cheaper than the base A3. Pricing for the 2011 Jetta TDI isn’t available yet, but the 2010 TDI was $22,830. Check our Audi listings to see the average price paid in your area.
Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive is available for gasoline models only. The 2011 Audi is a 2010 carryover.
Miles per gallon: The Audi A3 2.0T Premium front-wheel and all-wheel drive models offer 21 mpg city and 30 mpg highway, while the 2.0 TDI Premium front-wheel drive diesel model boasts 30 mpg city and 42 mpg highway, making it the standout choice for consumers in the market for outstanding fuel economy.
Wheelbase: All models feature a 101.5-inch wheelbase.
The 2011 Audi A3 is available in three trim levels, with varying engine specifications for each; the Audi 2.0T Quattro is the only model available in all-wheel drive.
The Audi A3 2.0T Premium Front-Wheel Drive trim level features a 2.0-liter I-4 engine with 200 horsepower and 207 lb.-ft. of torque.
The "Audi A3" 2.0 TDI Premium Front-Wheel Drive turbodiesel model also includes a 2.0-liter I-4 engine producing 140 horsepower and 236 lb.-ft. of torque.
The 2011 Audi A3 offers exceptional fuel economy, especially in the Audi A3 TDI model.
Luxury-branded hatchbacks -- they're the next big thing, trust us. Of course, diesel engines are about as popular with Americans as hatchbacks are. The 2011 Audi A3 is a four-door hatchback offered in two trims: Premium and Premium Plus. The Premium Plus comes standard with the Bluetooth Value package and adds different wheels, xenon headlights, LED running lights, steering wheel shift paddles (with automatic transmission) and aluminum interior trim. The Audi Navigation System Plus package adds a navigation system, a dash-mounted Audi Multi Media Interface (MMI) and the choice of either a six-CD changer or an iPod interface. Optional on both cars is the Cold Weather package, which adds heated front seats, heated mirrors and heated windshield washer nozzles. Also available are a panoramic sunroof, rear side airbags and a Sport package that includes 18-inch wheels, summer tires, sport-tuned suspension and sport seats. The Titanium Sport package available on the Premium Plus adds special exterior and interior trim to the Sport package.
With Quattro all-wheel drive, S tronic is standard. In performance testing, an A3 2.0T with the six-speed manual went from zero to 60 mph in 7.2 seconds -- about average among similarly powered entry-level luxury cars. EPA-estimated fuel economy is 21 mpg city/30 mpg highway and 24 mpg combined with the manual, and 21/28/24 with S tronic regardless of front- or all-wheel drive.
All-wheel drive and S tronic are standard. Audi estimates a 0-60 time of 8.9 seconds.
The 2011 Audi A3 comes standard with front-seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, whiplash-reducing front headrests, antilock brakes and stability control. Seat-mounted side airbags for rear passengers are optional.
The 2011 Audi A3's 2.0-liter gasoline engine provides ample power and is well-matched to either transmission choice

2011 Nissan Versa Reviews
In terms of performance and comfort, the Nissan Versa doesn't really stand out in its class. However, when it comes to bargain-basement pricing, the Versa is tough to beat.
Just know that going from the base model to the next model up brings the Versa's price to just over $11,000. Also, if you're looking for a handy hatchback to zip around town in, the Versa's hatchback body style isn't available on the base model. While the Versa hatchback is a reviewer favorite, it starts at over $13,000. While that means that the base hatch comes with more standard features than the base sedan, it also takes a significant chunk out of the Versa's value equation.
If you're looking for a well-equipped small car, the Kia Soul has a lengthy list of standard features--The Versa is largely unchanged for 2011. Antilock brakes are now standard on the Versa 1.6 sedan, but not the 1.6 BASE sedan. The Versa comes as a sedan or hatchback.
The Versa can be equipped quite well for a small, low-priced vehicle and, in some ways, can rival the comforts of a larger, more sophisticated car.
The Versa is offered in two different body styles, a four-door sedan and five-door hatchback. Versa sedans look a little tall and homely, and the proportions don't work out as well. The 2011 Nissan Versa has all the basics for decent small-car performance, but when it's all added up there's something missing in the details that leaves the overall execution uninspired. In all, you won't ever mistake the 2011 Versa for a sporty car. Compared to other cars in its class, the 2011 Versa is exceptionally roomy in both sedan and hatch guises, with plenty of headroom. The hatchback has a generous 17.8 cubic feet of cargo space with the backseat up, trunk space is vast for such a small car in the sedan, and Nissan says the amount of interior space approaches that of mid-size cars. The "2011 Nissan Versa" rides very comfortably—so much so, that you're likely to think you're in a larger vehicle. Depending on what trim you choose, the 2011 Nissan Versa can range from well under $11k, including destination, to approaching the $20k mark.
Changes are light for the 2011 Nissan Versa: antilock brakes are now included with the upgraded 1.6 sedan trim, while the 1.8 S sedan gains a six-disc CD changer.
Cars at a certain bargain-basement price point used to be called penalty boxes. Like many subcompact cars, the Versa is available in four-door sedan and hatchback body styles and its most basic models offer little in the way of convenience features.
The 2011 Nissan Versa is a subcompact car available in sedan and hatchback styles. The Power Plus package adds power windows and locks, keyless entry, cruise control and padded door armrests.
The 1.8 SL adds 15-inch alloy wheels, a height-adjustable driver seat, upgraded cloth upholstery, front and rear center armrests, 60/40 split rear seatbacks (sedan) and a six-speaker stereo. The sedan's Convenience package adds keyless ignition/entry, Bluetooth and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls. The 2011 Nissan Versa is available with a choice of two four-cylinder engines. A five-speed manual transmission is standard, while a four-speed automatic is optional.
EPA-estimated fuel economy with the manual is 26 mpg city/34 mpg highway and 29 mpg combined. A six-speed manual transmission is standard on the 1.8 S trim. The four-speed automatic is optional on the 1.8 S trim and standard on the 1.8 SL sedan, while the 1.8 SL hatchback gets a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT).
Every Versa comes standard with front side airbags and side curtain airbags. Antilock brakes are optional on the base car and standard on all other trim levels. Without antilock brakes, we found the Versa could stop from 60 mph in 132 feet, which is about average for this type of car. In government crash tests, the Versa scored four out of five stars for all occupants in both front- and side-impact tests.
In the government's new, more strenuous crash testing for 2011, the Versa earned an overall rating of two stars out of a possible five, with three stars for overall frontal crash protection and two stars for overall side crash protection.
The 2011 Nissan Versa has a remarkably roomy cabin. Looks-wise, the car's interior is quite bland, but overall interior quality is high. The car's overstuffed front seats are comfortable during hour-long commutes, but support fades on longer drives. Unlike Honda's Fit, the Versa hatchback's split rear seat doesn't fold down in a way that provides a flat cargo floor, but lowering it reveals a sizable 50 cubic feet of space.
Thanks to its softly tuned suspension, the 2011 Nissan Versa offers the sort of pillow-like ride that's usually reserved for much larger cars.

Possible Mercedes-Benz concept car coming?
Today we came across a set of three sketches depicting a possible Mercedes-Benz concept model that might be revealed next week at the Geneva Motor Show. The drawings show a highly futuristically-styled hypercar, characterised by an impressive combination of smooth, aerodynamical lines and surfaces that deliver a dramatic look. At the moment, nothing else is known about this mind-blowing automobile. Check out several photos after the jump!

2011 Volvo s40 Reviews
2011 Volvo s40 Reviews
While safety-minded family shoppers often consider Volvo's larger sedans and crossover wagons, the S40 compact sedan isn't nearly as popular. The 2011 Volvo S40 is unremarkable from a styling standpoint, though it's even by today's fashion sense a well-sculpted small sport sedan. With the former base S40 2.4i models discontinued, as well as available all-wheel drive, only front-wheel-drive S40 T5 and T5 R-Design remain, both offering the higher-power 2.5-liter turbocharged in-line five-cylinder engine.
The 2011 Volvo S40 is a classy-looking car with a strong reputation for safety. It starts at $27,750, about $2,000 less than the BMW 1-Series.
Volvo redesigned the S40 in 2008. For 2011, Volvo simplified its trim, engine and transmission options; everything else remains the same.
The BMW 1-Series is one of the best drivers in the class. Starting at $29,150, the BMW 1-Series has two engine and transmission options that shoppers can select to fit their driving needs. The Volkswagen GTI is one of the least expensive cars in the class that offers a complete package: high performance, affordability, great fuel economy and a comfy interior. A diesel engine that enhances fuel economy is also available--The "2011 Volvo S40 "is available in two trims: T5 and R-Design.
For the 2011 Volvo S40, the base 2.4i model has been discontinued, as has the all-wheel-drive T5 R-Design. On the positive side, the Volvo S40 certainly looks the part of a European sport sedan. Similarly, the BMW 3 Series and Infiniti G Sedan justify their higher costs through added performance and prestige.
The 2011 Volvo S40 Sedan is available in two trim levels: T5 and T5 R-Design--Adding the optional Preferred package will also get you a sunroof, leather upholstery and a power passenger seat.
Both trims are available with the Climate package, which adds heated front seats, headlight washers, automatic wipers and automatic climate control. Stand-alone options include 18-inch wheels, adaptive xenon headlights, satellite radio, keyless ignition/entry, rear parking sensors and a blind-spot detection system paired with power-folding mirrors.
A standard five-speed automatic routes power to the front wheels -- all-wheel drive is no longer available. The EPA estimates fuel economy at 21 mpg city/30 mpg highway and 24 mpg in combined driving.
Antilock disc brakes, traction control and stability control are standard on all 2011 Volvo S40s. Also included are front-seat side airbags and full-length head curtain airbags, along with whiplash-reducing front head restraints. In Insurance Institute for Highway Safety testing, the S40 was awarded the best rating of "Good" in the frontal-offset test and the second-best "Acceptable" rating in the side-impact test.

2011 Audi A4 Review
The city fuel economy for the 2011 Audi A4 is between 21 miles per gallon and 23 miles per gallon. The four door All Wheel Drive Quattro Sedan 2.0T Premium will cost $32,850.
The 2011 Audi A4 has chosen to incorporate a Multi Media Interface into its system.
The "2011 Audi A4" is a viable alternative to the more-expensive BMW 3-series. Audi refreshed the A4 in 2009. Two model years later, the 2011 Audi A4 has experienced few changes.
Combined with its Quattro all-wheel drive system -- which Audi says more than 80 percent of buyers choose -- the 2011 Audi A4 corners aggressively and but can also be a quiet commuter.
While reviewers love this car’s appearance inside and out, Audi’s engine selection puzzles them: a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder. Audi says drivers should average 21 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway with the manual transmission. The " Audi A4" is the largest sedan -- and one of the most affordable -- among Upscale Midsize Cars.
The 2011 Audi A4 is available in sedan and wagon (Avant) body styles. Both come in Premium, Premium Plus and Prestige body styles.
The Premium trim comes standard with 17-inch alloy wheels, a sunroof (panoramic on Avant), cruise control, foglamps, automatic climate control, eight-way power front seats, a tilt-and-telescoping leather-wrapped steering wheel, leather upholstery, a dash-mounted Audi Multi Media Interface (MMI) and a 10-speaker sound system with a CD player, auxiliary audio jack and satellite radio. The A4 Prestige comes standard with 18-inch wheels, keyless ignition/entry, driver memory settings, auto-dimming exterior mirrors, the Navigation package and a Bang & Olufsen premium sound system (optional on Premium Plus). The Avant Prestige gets a power tailgate. Options unique to the Prestige include a blind-spot warning system, the Drive Select package (which provides adjustable settings for the suspension, steering and transmission), adaptive cruise control, a power rear sunshade and manual rear side sunshades.
The Sport package includes 18-inch wheels on the Premium Plus (19-inch wheels on the Prestige), a sport-tuned suspension, a three-spoke steering wheel, more aggressively bolstered seats and automatic transmission shift paddles. The Titanium Sport package available on the Premium Plus and Prestige is essentially a Sport package with some darkened trim and 19-inch wheels.
The sedan's Premium and Premium Plus trim levels come standard as the 2.0T FrontTrak, indicating it has front-wheel drive and a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). The Avant is available only with Quattro and the automatic.
The 2011 Audi A4 comes standard with antilock brakes, traction and stability control, front seat side airbags and side curtain airbags. Without the Sport package, an A4 Quattro sedan stopped in an average but still acceptable 123 feet.
The sedan's 12-cubic-foot trunk is average in size, so it's worth considering the Avant, as it offers 17.3 cubic feet.
The 2011 Audi A4's handling is neutral and secure, especially when equipped with the all-wheel-drive system. Read our Audi A4 Avant Long-Term 30,000-Mile Test

Other trim levels featuring the 2.0-liter turbo are only offered with the DSG automatic.
