Class C Motorhomes Are Small Class A RVs
Class C motorhomes are sometimes known as mini-motor homes because they are smaller versions of Class A RVs. Class C motorhomes are similar to their larger counterpart in many ways, such as in luxury, but are sold at a much lesser price.
When driving Class C RVs, the space often feels more like a truck or van, rather than a large Class A motor coach. Class C motorhomes are built on what is called a cutaway chassis. They have passenger and side doors, as do Class A RVs.
With Class C motorhomes, there is a cab over design that distinguishes it from other recreational vehicle units. This is most often where the bedroom space is located, and it could be the only sleeping area available, depending on which of the Class C motorhomes you select.
Class C units range from 20 to 35 feet in length, with the most common length around 30 feet. Floor plans vary from manufacturer, and they complement the variety you can purchase with Class A motor coach. The prices will range anywhere from $45,000 to over $100,000. This, as with any new or used RV, will vary depending on the make you select, the model, the amount of upgrades or amenities, etc.
This size RV unit is popular because of the ability to add luxury amenities to it. As previously mentioned, it is smaller than the Class A recreational vehicle, but can be just as enhanced. Know your budget, and see what types of upgrades you can add to your unit before you take it home with you or on your first RV vacation.
Sample types of upgrades are as follows: you could get a larger bath area; you could increase the kitchen space and make it more complete with additional appliances; you could add larger beds that can accommodate up to six people; or you could add nicer furnishings or materials, such as counter tops or draperies.
When manufacturers build this kind of recreational vehicle, we are told that they design them for families living in the camper for long weekend trips. They also think about those who will spend longer amounts of time on the road. This is why the Class C RV is built with all the comforts of home.
The interior space of this unit is not as large as its Class A counterpart, but the upside to this is that it is more fuel efficient. It saves you money on the initial purchase cost, as well as over the long haul with gas costs. It is also important to note that this size RV unit can be parked in smaller spaces, and they offer more maneuverability.
No matter what size of RV you purchase, make sure you have learned the basic facts of all the units, so that you can make a wise decision. Choose the size of recreational vehicle that complements your traveling tastes, budget, and style.
