2011 Infiniti M37 Review

2011 Infiniti M37
2011 Infiniti M37.The first-generation M-series was a mildly dressed up Japanese domestic market Nissan. The second generation brought the car up to contemporary expectations in terms of exterior styling, but fell a little short on the inside.

That outgoing model was an excellent car in virtually all respects, but facing competition from established benchmarks such as the Mercedes-Benz E Class and BMW 5 Series meant that Infiniti needed to make improvements.

Power and control
This engine also scores 18 mpg on the EPA's city driving cycle and 26 mpg on the highway. In mixed suburban driving, our test car returned 19 mpg.

The M37's transmission works well in full automatic mode, or the driver can opt to shift gears manually for more complete control during hard driving.

The only exception to this commendable unobtrusiveness occurs if the driver makes the mistake of selecting Eco mode on the center console-mounted Infiniti Drive control knob. Under most driving conditions, they are normally innocuous. No marginal improvement in fuel economy could be worth enduring Eco mode for long. Conversely, its engine is a good match for the BMW's and easily tops the Mercedes-Benz V6.

BMW's 535i is pricier, at $52,775 base, though the company has introduced an entry-level 528i with a smaller engine that starts at just $45,425, if customers can live with 90 hp less than the Infiniti. One outstanding interior feature is a high-definition widescreen display that makes other companies' efforts look like Atari video games.

The Jaguar XF is a striking contender, probably closest to the Infiniti in ambience and design philosophy. The difficulty in winning fans means that Infiniti could have a hard time convincing shoppers that the $50,465 bottom line (including $865 destination) on the tested M37 (with the Premium Package) represents good value.

The 2011 Infiniti M37 is an all-new midsize luxury sedan model that replaces the brand's M35.
The luxury sedan game is a tough nut to crack. Along with its V8-powered sibling, the Infiniti M56, the 2011 Infiniti M37 is a midsize luxury sedan available with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options
The 2011 Infiniti M37 comes standard with 18-inch wheels, automatic bi-xenon headlights, foglights, power-folding heated mirrors, automatic wipers, a sunroof, keyless ignition/entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, heated eight-way power front seats, driver memory functions, a power tilt-and-telescoping steering column, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, rearview camera, Bluetooth and a six-speaker stereo with a CD player, auxiliary audio/visual jack, iPod interface and satellite radio.

The Deluxe Touring package adds a power rear sunshade, an in-car air purifier, upgraded leather upholstery and interior trim, and a 16-speaker Bose surround-sound stereo. The Sport package (not available with all-wheel drive) adds 20-inch wheels, summer tires, sport-tuned suspension and brakes, four-wheel active steering, sport seats and steering wheel, and unique exterior styling elements. The Sport Touring package adds the surround-sound stereo, air purifier and power sunshade to the Sport package. The Technology package includes adaptive cruise control, a lane departure warning and prevention system, blind-spot warning system, forward collision warning system, adaptive headlights and the "eco pedal" that provides feedback to the driver to encourage fuel-efficient driving.

Rear-wheel drive is standard, but the M37x features all-wheel drive. EPA-estimated fuel economy is 18 mpg city/26 mpg highway with rear-wheel drive and 17/24 with all-wheel drive.

Over its three generations, Infiniti’s M car has gone from a staid, upright, obsolete-when-it-debuted sedan with a big engine to a curve-heavy technology-packed luxury car with a big engine. The first generation of the M was basically a left hand drive, Infiniti-badged version of the JDM Nissan Gloria. The second-generation M stepped up the technology game over the original car, adding features like four wheel steering, all wheel drive, blind spot warning system, a sophisticated multimedia entertainment system, and a standard V6 engine. The M’s cabin is a stylish, well-appointed place to spend time. It requires diligence to actually find cheap-feeling, hard plastics – all of the car’s touch points are either French stitched pleather, real metal, real wood veneer, or soft-touch plastic. For a car up one price class (and a half-size larger) from Infiniti’s G37 sedan, this is all par for the course. For 2011, the Infiniti M37 has Infiniti’s newest VQ-series V6, this one displacing 3.7 liters, and it pulls strongly at nearly every engine speed. Manual gear changes are possible with a separate shift gate on the console-mounted lever, but they’re frustratingly inconsistent in their speed of execution.

The suspension in this non-Sport Package-equipped tester was a bit too soft for my taste, but I’ll give Infiniti credit for continuing to offer that as a choice to those who want larger wheels (the Sport Package comes with 20 inch wheels versus this car’s 18s) and a firmer, more controlled ride.

2011 Infiniti M56

The 2011 Infiniti M56 comes standard with 18-inch wheels, automatic bi-xenon headlights, foglights, power-folding heated mirrors, automatic wipers, a sunroof, keyless ignition/entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, heated and ventilated eight-way power front seats, driver memory functions, a power tilt-and-telescoping steering column, a heated steering wheel and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The Deluxe Touring package adds a power rear sunshade, an in-car air purifier, upgraded leather upholstery and interior trim and a 16-speaker Bose surround-sound stereo. The 2011 Infiniti M56 is powered by a 5.6-liter V8 that produces 420 hp and 417 pound-feet of torque. Rear-wheel drive is standard, but the M56x features all-wheel drive.

Safety
The M56 comes standard with antilock brakes, stability and traction control, front side airbags, side curtain airbags and active head restraints. Included in the Technology package are a lane departure warning and prevention system, blind-spot warning system and a forward collision warning system with intelligent brake assist.

The 2011 Infiniti M56 is a big car, but it drives smaller than you might think.
Compared to long-standing luxury leaders such as Audi and Jaguar, the Infiniti lacks snob status. Expert drivers have achieved nearly 30 mpg/highway using Eco mode; the “Eco pedal” applies resistance to the accelerator pedal so that drivers cannot unceremoniously floor the pedal, thus wasting fuel.

In automobile parlance, the Infiniti M56 has “organic” styling, with voluptuous curves and flowing lines. Functional elements – door handles, dashboard controls, etc. – are beautifully stylized but retain their sensibility; ergonomics is considered one of the Infiniti’s highlights.

2011 Infiniti EX35 Review

2011 Infiniti EX35
The 2011 Infiniti EX35 gets a new transmission. Available safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, curtain-side airbags, and front-side airbags. Standard on the Journey are a power tilt and telescopic steering wheel, heated front seats, sunroof, wireless cell-phone link, and hard drive for storing digital-music files. Lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, power-folding rear seat backs, and a navigation system are among the options offered on the Journey.

COMPETITION
Premium-Compact SUVs are luxury SUVs that are compact in size.
With rear-wheel-drive and a more wagon-like profile, the EX35 isn’t your average people and cargo hauler. if Goldilocks drove, she might consider it just right. North America sees the EX in 3.5-liter trim (hence EX35), but Europe and Japan get a zippier EX37 with Infiniti’s larger V6, while China gets an EX25 with Infinit’s smaller V6.
For the 2011 model year, the Infiniti EX35 finds itself grille to grille with some of the brightest in the business.

Any breakthroughs?
Then there are the other techno-fab pieces like the Lane Departure Warning, and Lane Departure Prevention systems, Full-speed Intelligent Cruise Control, Distance Control Assist, and finally the Blind Spot Warning system.

When you compare the EX with big brother FX, you get the impression that the EX came out on top when the genetics were being sorted out. With our Infiniti and its rear-wheel-drive setup (all-wheel-drive is optional), we didn’t even make an attempt at some of the rough terrain that is South Florida.

Chrome trim strips frame the greenhouse, and blacked out B, C and D-pillars help to minimize the size that comes with adding various safety items like air curtains and seat side-curtain airbags. The overall look is finished off nicely with 19-inch split-spoke wheels mounted with Bridgestone Potenza sport tires. The liftgate is equipped with a curved expanse of glass covered by a rear window shade. Once again, Infiniti shows that it is at the top of its game as far as interior design is concerned. Infiniti has managed to avoid going to the spinning control dial as seen in Mercedes-Benz, Audi, BMW and, yes, Hyundai vehicles. Large, living room chair-style front seats kept us firmly tucked in during our tracking through twisties. Cargo space in the “way back” was accommodating for 18.6 cubic feet with the 60-40 split seats in the upright and locked position. Following Infiniti’s (and Nissan’s) economy of scale, the EX shares underpinnings with its sistership, the G sedan. But with the EX 5.6 inches shorter in overall length at 182.3, than the G’s 187.9-inches, it is able to bring forth a sporty car feel that actually makes it a fun driver.

Our EX RWD weighed in at 3,795 lbs., and according to the EPA, managed to tick off 17 city and 24 highway miles per gallon during government testing. From a handling standpoint, the EX is equipped with a subframe mounted double-wishbone setup that has high-performance dual-pass shock absorbers with a 26mm stabilizer bar in front. A speed-determined variable-power assist handles steering.

The EX was quite the performer throughout our week of constant cruising. Once again, the thought “Infiniti G wagon” came to mind.
Infiniti’s 2011 EX35 captures the spritely feeling of a small car with the luxury and technology of a land yacht.

Lumping the Infiniti EX35 in with other “small cars” is a bit of a stretch. The Infiniti EX35 is not exactly small, since it measures about 15 feet long and weighs 3,764 pounds. Like the Infiniti M37x, the EX35 has that cocooning cockpit feel. You slip in and the car just feels right. The lighting inside, especially the “electroluminescent” gauges, have that extra luxury look that makes the car worth the higher price tag (our test car is priced at $46,605 but the base price is $35,150 – or much closer to the X3.)

The exterior styling is not as pronounced as the M37x we tested.
Pick a speed, any speed
We’re jumping right to the driving experience here, because that is the real draw with this sporty hatchback. It now has a 7-speed transmission. Truth be told, switching from a 5-speed to a 7-speed might be a technical improvement. The real reason the Infiniti EX35 begs you to drive fast is due to the cockpit feel.

2011 Infiniti Fx Reviews

 2011 Infiniti Fx Reviews
The 2011 Infiniti Fx35, dazzle the roads with HID headlights! 18-inch aluminium wheels add to the jazzy look of The 2011 Infiniti Fx35.

The Premium Package adds a variety of attractive items to the already snazzy 2011 Infiniti Fx35. Which car, other than the inimitable 2011 Infiniti Fx35, offers all these and more? The 2011 Infiniti Fx35 is available with either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive. The all-wheel-drive models of The 2011 Infiniti Fx35 use an electronically controlled system that automatically directs power to the wheels with the most traction. Electronic traction and stability control systems also come standard with The 2011 Infiniti Fx35. All-wheel-drive versions of The 2011 Infiniti Fx35 feature a snow mode for smoother takeoffs on slippery roads.

Sporty luxury crossover SUVs like the 2011 Infiniti FX37 and FX50 seem to be gaining in popularity. And with the FX, Infiniti emphasizes "sport" over utility. Notable features include a clever top-view camera, adaptive cruise control, intelligent brake assist and a lane departure warning and prevention system.

Unfortunately, the Infiniti FX has some drawbacks that its high-tech wizardry can't solve. If utility is a priority, the 2011 Infiniti FX35 and FX50 probably aren't your best choices. The 2011 Infiniti FX35 and FX50 are midsize luxury crossover SUVs available in a single, well-equipped trim level. The V6-powered FX35 can be had with either rear- or all-wheel drive, while the V8-powered FX50 is only offered with AWD.
Standard features for the FX35 include 18-inch alloy wheels, automatic xenon headlights, foglights, a sunroof, power-folding heated outside mirrors, keyless ignition/entry, a power liftgate, leather upholstery, full power accessories, eight-way power front seats, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and a manual tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel with audio controls. The FX50's Deluxe Touring is similar but adds 21-inch wheels. The Technology package (which requires the Deluxe Touring package) adds automatic wipers, adaptive cruise control, adaptive headlamps, intelligent brake assist and a lane-departure warning and prevention system.
A Sport package is available for the FX50 only, and adds dark-tinted exterior trim, active rear steering, adaptive two-mode suspension dampers, paddle shifters and sport front seats.
The 2011 Infiniti FX35 is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 that produces 303 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. Rear-wheel drive is standard for the FX35; an all-wheel-drive system with a rear bias to preserve the vehicle's sporty handling capabilities is optional. The FX50 is only offered with AWD.
The EPA estimates fuel consumption for the AWD FX35 at 16 mpg city/21 mpg highway and 18 mpg combined, while rear-drive models are rated at 16/23/19 mpg. The FX50 is estimated at 14/20/16 mpg.
Safety
Standard safety features for the 2011 Infiniti FX35 and FX50 include antilock disc brakes with brake assist, front-seat-mounted side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, traction control and stability control. Recent Edmunds brake testing yielded very favorable results for both FX versions. Stopping from 60 mph required only 114 feet for the FX35 and 117 feet for the FX50.
In terms of handling and ride quality, both the 2011 Infiniti FX35 and FX50 deliver similar experiences.

The 2011 Infiniti FX is a great choice is you want a sporty, stylish and high-tech crossover SUV. But, if you’re looking for family-SUV practicality, look elsewhere.
Three things set the 2011 Infiniti FX apart from the luxury midsize SUV pack: its high-tech safety features, sporty performance and fashion-forward styling. The FX has coupe-like styling. It looks great but cuts into passenger and cargo space.

2011 Infiniti EX Reviews

2011 Infiniti EX Reviews

2011 Infiniti EX .The smaller EX crossover/wagon thingie, for example, gets a host of new updates including a seven-speed automatic transmission, larger wheel choices and more standard technology.

From there, all EX models now come standard with 18-inch wheels (a 19-inch set is available with the Deluxe Touring Package), dual-zone automatic climate control and new exterior paint options including Arctic Blue (pictured). Follow the jump for the full list of 2011 EX changes in Infiniti's press release.

As luxury crossovers go, the 2011 Infiniti EX (formerly the EX35) inhabits a small niche. The EX's wheelbase is just 2 inches longer and its ride height 1 inch taller than the Infiniti G37 sedan that underpins it. For 2011 the EX also gets a new exterior look, with 18-inch wheels standard on both trim levels. For 2011, the EX also features a blind-spot warning system.

The 2011 Infiniti EX is a five-passenger crossover luxury wagon available in base and Journey trim levels. Standard equipment includes 18-inch wheels, automatic headlamps, foglights, cruise control, keyless ignition/entry, heated outside mirrors, automatic dual-zone climate control, a tilt-and-telescoping steering column with leather-wrapped wheel, eight-way driver and four-way passenger power seats (heated on AWD models), leather upholstery, two-tone cabin treatments, a rearview camera and a six-speaker stereo with a single-CD player, satellite radio and a USB jack.

The EX Journey adds a sunroof, power-adjustable steering column, heated front seats, wood interior trim, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, Bluetooth and an in-dash six-CD changer.
The Deluxe Touring package includes 19-inch alloy wheels, adaptive xenon headlamps, driver memory functions, an eight-way power passenger seat, a power-folding backseat and upgraded interior trim. The Technology package offers lane-departure warning and prevention systems, adaptive cruise control, intelligent brake assist with forward collision warning and a blind-spot warning system.

The 2011 Infiniti EX is available with rear-wheel or all-wheel drive. Fuel economy estimates are 17 mpg city/24 mpg highway and 20 mpg combined for both rear-wheel and all-wheel-drive models.

Standard safety equipment includes antilock disc brakes, traction and stability control, front-seat side airbags, side curtain airbags and active front head restraints. In performance brake testing, the EX stopped from 60 mph in 118 feet, a very good result for this class.
Both trim levels offer high-quality leather, with aluminum (base) or maple (Journey) interior trim complementing the soft lines and pleasing contours.

The 2011 Infiniti EX is a treat to drive, even if you don't like sport-utility vehicles. That's because the EX is really more of a sport sedan with a tall ride height.

While limited cargo and passenger space means the 2011 Infiniti EX isn’t a great family car, reviewers say that its sporty performance, stylish looks and classy interior will please just about everyone but parents.

Edmunds calls the EX “one of the best-driving entries in the growing compact luxury crossover segment.” Though less roomy than competitors, the Infiniti EX is still a great value. For buyers who don’t need the world’s most practical SUV, the EX is a sporty choice among luxury compact SUVs. If you’re a driving enthusiast who needs more cargo space than Infiniti’s G sedan provides, reviewers say the EX is a great choice.

The 2011 Infiniti EX35 comes in base and Journey trims. With either trim, the EX has standard rear-wheel drive and optional all-wheel drive.

2012 Infiniti M35h hybrids

2012 Infiniti M35h hybrids
There's no doubt about it, in response to environmental concerns and new fuel economy regulations, hybrids are slowly taking over as the mainstream vehicle of choice. Although the luxury hybrid market is only starting to come alive—with the venerable Lexus offerings now standing alongside newer contestants like the Volkswagen Touareg Hybrid—the entrance of the Infiniti M35h marks something special: it's the world's first car to offer good fuel economy, incredible performance and decadent luxury in one package. Up to this point all luxury hybrids have been full of compromises—with fuel economy taking a back seat to performance.

Is the M35h perfect? I recently had a chance to test drive the M35h ahead of its market availability in April 2011. The M35h is the only car that gets better than 30 mpg on the highway and has 350 horsepower. The U.S. EPA estimates that the M35h will get 27 mpg in the city and 32 mpg highway—resulting in a combined fuel economy of 29 mpg. In addition to coaching tools, many hybrids have an "Eco Mode"—or similarly named option—that will adjust the way the vehicle operates to prevent you from pushing too hard on the gas pedal or alter when the car shifts gears to help conserve fuel. The M35h is no exception, proudly sporting an Eco Mode as a main feature.

After driving the M35h for the better part of two hours in Eco Mode my right foot hurt from having to exert extra pressure on the gas pedal. To an M35h driver, the hybrid powertrain provides more power than the lesser-priced M37's V6 engine and is a better performing car. Ignoring the complexities of the argument, most new electric vehicle manufacturers have addressed this issue by including the option for drivers to turn on warning sounds. The M35h can drive in EV mode at speeds up to 60 mph for distances as far as one mile at a time. As the luxury brand of Nissan, Infiniti took the sounds that were developed for the Leaf and incorporated them into the M35h—resulting in what Infiniti says is the first hybrid with built-in pedestrian alert sounds.

The audible warning system is dubbed Approaching Vehicle Sound for Pedestrians (VSP) and creates a variety of distinctive sounds to warn those outside the car that it's headed their way. The noise shifts from high to low frequency depending on the vehicle's speed, and it's loudest when the M35h starts to move to alert those nearby. An intermittent sound is also emitted when the vehicle is reversing. Infiniti's VSP development team worked with cognitive and acoustic psychologists to study pedestrian-behavioral patterns and noise pollution in developing appropriate warnings.

With the M35h, Infiniti copied Lexus' idea of designing a hybrid system for performance rather than all out fuel economy. As such, the hybrid uses Infiniti's 3.5-liter V-6 coupled to an electric motor to produce a combined 360 horsepower.

The hybrid system uses a single, 50-kW (67-horsepower) electric motor powered by a lithium-ion battery to deliver motive power directly to the seven-speed automatic transmission. In addition to being Infiniti's first hybrid, the M35h is also the world's first hybrid to come standard with pedestrian alert technology. Infiniti is the first automaker to offer such a system, accurately dubbed Approaching Vehicle Sound for Pedestrians, as standard on its new hybrid.
When decelerating, the system kicks back in below 15 mph.

2011 Infiniti G37

2011 Infiniti G37 Review
Essentially what was sport-package front and rear styling is standard for 2011, and the Sport models get a more aggressive look and updated wheels.

Coupe and convertible models receive the same sport-package treatments for 2011, and the fog lights on the 2011 coupes have been relocated to the lower grille openings as they were on the 2010 sedan. All Gs share Infiniti's affinity for wave shapes in the aluminum hoods.

Despite the differences in styling, the Infiniti G sedan, coupe, and convertible have similar exterior dimensions and an identical wheelbase (the distance between the front and rear wheels). From the side or three-quarter view the coupe and convertible share a mild family resemblance to the shorter, chunkier Nissan Z-car.

It's slightly wider than the other G models, with a modified rear suspension that allows for the top's power mechanism and stowage space behind the rear seat. The Sport package gives the convertible a special, more aggressive looking grille and front end.

The factory wheel designs for the 2011 Infiniti G models are handsome. The standard 17-inch wheels on sedans feature a new five-spoke, triple-fork design. The doors on the two-door models are long and heavy. The "G37 Convertible" comes with an adaptive climate control system that automatically adjusts airflow and fan speed based on top position and road speed. Rear seat space in the G37 Convertible is just as tight. The G37 Convertible offers competitive trunk space when compared with other cars in the class, with 10.3 cubic feet, but only with the roof up. Rear seat space in the G37 Convertible is just as tight.

Rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive are both available and the engine, a 3.7-liter V6, is more than up to the task. The 2011 G37 is also available with a 7-speed automatic transmission or a 6-speed manual.

Several thoughtful features converge to make the 2011 Infiniti G37 a veritable powerhouse. A 6-speed manual transmission is also available. Sport models get key enhancements like limited slip differentials and stiffer suspensions.

The front seats are undeniably comfortable; the feasibility of seating three people in the backseat, however, is a bit low.
Despite the fact that the 2011 Infiniti G37 is a sedan that, in theory, seats five, the backseat will more realistically seat two. Although trunk space is limited, especially in convertible models, the rear seats fold down for additional storage space.

A G37 coupe with a slightly higher calling. Next comes the IPL-specific kit: a rear spoiler, front and rear fascias, side sills, chrome exhaust tips, and beautiful dark-finished 19-inch wheels shod with staggered-width Bridgestone Potenza RE050A rubber. The chassis gets unique spring rates and shock tuning, as well as the sportier steering, huge brake discs, and brake calipers from the G37S. The IPL G will be available only in dark gray metallic or black paint, with the interior color options restricted to all black or black with red seats, door trim, and detail stitching.

2010 Infiniti G37 review

The 2010 Infiniti G37 ranks 2 out of 17 Upscale Midsize Cars. The 2010 Infiniti G37 is an extremely well-rounded car, balancing the comfort of a commuter and the athleticism of a performance car. It’s available as a refined sport sedan, an aggressive coupe or a gorgeous convertible. Reviewers note, however, that its extensive option list can make ordering a G37 an expensive proposition.
There are few more balanced cars than the "Infiniti G37". Consumer Guide sums up its appeal well -- “The Infiniti G37 performance, space, and available all-wheel drive make it an excellent alternative to rivals from Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz, especially with the addition of the hardtop convertible. Reviewers complain that the coupe and convertible editions have small backseats and limited storage, even when compared to other coupes and convertibles.
Available in sedan, coupe and convertible variants, it is the G's major rival on the track, and is offered at a similar price.
Convertible shoppers might also consider the Lexus IS C. Some reviewers find that its top-down handling is tighter than the Infiniti's. Both Coupe and Sedan models are available in a dizzying array of trims, including G37, G37 Journey, G37S Sport 6MT, and G37x AWD. Sport and Journey models come with a unique four-wheel active steering system that improves handling. The G37 Convertible comes in a single, rear-wheel drive trim.

Trim levels include the rear-wheel-drive G37 Base, G37 Journey, G37S Sport 6MT, and all-wheel-drive G37x. Available safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, curtain-side airbags, and front-side airbags.

Premium-Midsize Cars sport interior dimensions similar to Midsize Cars. Premium-Midsize Cars offer more luxury, performance, and prestige when compared to Midsize Cars.

New or significantly redesigned models include the BMW 5-Series Gran Turismo, Infiniti G37 convertible, Lexus ES 350, Lincoln MKZ, and Mercedes-Benz E-Class. The Cadillac CTS gains a 4-door wagon body style for 2010.

2011 Infiniti QX56 Review

The "2011 Infiniti QX56" . Most car reviewers say the newly redesigned 2011 Infiniti QX56 has what it takes to compete with the best in its class.

The Infiniti QX56 is all new for 2011, and reviewers say it's finally competitive. The changes to the Infiniti QX56 for 2011 start on the outside. Since it's an Infiniti, the QX56 comes loaded with high-tech standard features, as well as some innovative available safety features, like Intelligent Cruise Control.

What few complaints reviewers have center on the QX56's steering, with some reviewers complaining that it feels numb. If complaints about the QX56's steering are a deal breaker for you, check out the Land Rover Range Rover or the Land Rover Range Rover Sport. Both cost more than the QX56 (in the case of the Range Rover, about $22,000 more) but turn in performance that reviewers say is hard to top.

The full-size luxury SUV category was created by domestic manufacturers, but import-brand manufacturers subsequently joined the fray. As an Infiniti, however, it does feature its own unique styling elements and feature upgrades.

The Infiniti QX56 comes with a smooth V8 that offers ample power. SUV buyers crave roomy cabins and the QX56's fits the bill, with spacious second and third rows. Current Infiniti QX56
The Infiniti QX56 is a full-size SUV that seats seven or eight. Only one trim is offered, but that trim comes loaded with a wealth of standard features. A rear-seat DVD entertainment system is optional, as is a second-row bench seat (in lieu of the standard captain's chairs) that allows the Infiniti to seat a total of eight passengers. Rear-wheel- or four-wheel-drive models are offered. The Infiniti QX56's cabin strives to impart the requisite luxury SUV opulence but ultimately misses the mark. Cargo capacity is another shortcoming. By comparison, Cadillac's Escalade offers 109 cubic feet of cargo room, while the extended-length ESV version offers 137 cubes. More impressive is the QX56's standard rearview monitor. In road tests, our editors have praised the "Infiniti QX56 "for its refined powertrain, smooth ride and family-friendly passenger quarters. Used Infiniti QX56 Models

The QX56 debuted for the 2004 model year. Infiniti made only minor changes early on, including a 60/40-split for the third-row seat, a standard Bluetooth hands-free system and enhanced exterior mirrors for 2006.
