Chevrolet Corvette C7 2013

If the Corvette Stingray concept foreshadows the next-generation Corvette C7, then what might the production car look like?
Given the concept’s massive wheels, exaggerated exterior, and extremely low roofline, there’s almost no way the production Corvette C7 will look exactly like it. The Corvette C7 will retain its front-engine layout, forgoing a more costly – and complex – mid-engine setup.
One speculated engine option would be a twin-turbo 3.6-liter DOHC V6 capable of 400 horsepower.
For example, when the Corvette’s most recent major update came along for model year 2005, purporting to mark the transition from generation five (C5) to generation six, we characterized the sum of the changes as Corvette C5 and 11/16ths.
The members of the Corvette tribe don’t refer to their baby in alphanumerics. The Corvette’s looks haven’t changed much in the last two generations, covering 13 years, but we anticipate change in the Corvette C7 will be apparent at a glance, even to casual observers.
According to insider folklore, CEO Dan Akerson—GM’s fourth CEO since March 2009—attended a Corvette styling review and told design chief Ed Welburn that he thought the C6’s posterior was way too wide. Chevrolet first signaled its interest in reviving the split window by outfitting the Stingray concept vehicle with one. The C6 Vette has long been a respected member of the serious sports-car community, but its interior has been subpar for ¬¬just as long. There will be changes under the hood, too. Also, fuel-economy ratings may show a slight uptick. We look for the base Corvette coupe to start at roughly $52,000, ranging up to about $115,000 for the ZR1.
The future for America’s sports car sees the Corvette becoming lighter, slicker and moderately more compact, powered by an equally powerful but smaller V-8. A list of priorities from the average Corvette owner puts perform¬ance at the top, with fuel efficiency somewhere just above the desire for rear seats and a better tow rating.
In the meantime, the new Corvette C7 will retain a front-engine design, but the car will lose weight while its engine will become more effective at extracting energy from fuel. Improved aerodynamics will also help the Vette punch a smaller hole through the air, aiding acceleration, top speed and mpg.

2012 Chevy Sonic Review

The 2012 Chevrolet Sonic replaces the Chevrolet Aveo. How will Chevrolet take the Sonic to the next level? First, the Sonic gets the same engines as the Chevrolet Cruze – a 1.4-liter turbo charged engine and 1.8-liter engine. Second, Chevrolet upped Sonic’s interior features. The Chevrolet Sonic, for example, has heated front seats and remote vehicle start, two features that aren’t common in the class. Third, Chevrolet redesigned the Sonic’s exterior to make it more aggressive and sportier-looking than the outgoing Aveo. One of the Sonic’s most obvious competitors is the Ford Fiesta. First, the Fiesta sedan has 12.8 cubic feet of cargo room – the Sonic sedan has 14. The Fiesta hatchback has 15.4 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats in use – the Sonic has 19. Chevrolet gave the Chevy Sonic interior options like a sunroof, heated front seats and Bluetooth connectivity to make it more class competitive.
Details: 2012 Chevrolet Sonic
The 2012 Chevrolet Sonic is an all-new model from Chevrolet that replaces the Chevrolet Aveo. Chevrolet gave the Sonic Chevrolet Sonic the same engines as the well-liked Chevrolet Cruze. Chevrolet hasn’t released pricing information yet, but Car and Driver speculates that with the 2011 Chevrolet Aveo starting at $12,685, the Sonic should have a base price around $13,000. The Sonic will be available as a sedan and hatchback.
With its new Sonic, Chevrolet now has a more compelling contender in the subcompact segment. The Sonic replaces the Aveo and will compete with the Ford Fiesta, Honda Fit and Nissan Versa. Like the Fiesta and Versa, the Chevy Sonic is available in sedan and hatchback body styles.
Trunk space for the sedan has increased, though, growing from 12.4 cubic feet to 14 cubic feet. Like the Chevrolet Cruze, the Chevy Sonic comes with a base 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine and an available turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder. The turbocharged engine makes 138 horsepower. Available transmissions for the 1.8-liter include a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.
Standard safety equipment includes 10 standard air bags, antilock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist, and OnStar with Automatic Crash Response.
2012 Chevrolet Sonic ,It's bigger, bolder, and likely a better buy, but this redesigned subcompact will face tough competition--and the same tough task of convincing more buyers to get small. Meet the 2012 Chevrolet Sonic.
Of course, demand for fuel-efficient vehicles tends to rise and fall with fuel prices, as well as with public confidence in the way things are going. The 2012 Chevrolet Sonic reflects these trends, as we know from various recent intel and the production-preview Aveo RS Concept revealed at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show. As a result, sources say, this subcompact will grow to about the same size as Chevy's Cobalt compact car (recently replaced by Cruze).

2011 Chevrolet Aveo Hatchback form also comes with a rear spoiler

The Chevrolet Aveo Hatchback trails its subcompact competition in performance and refinement, but its pricing is kind to tight budgets The 2011 Chevrolet Aveo is available as either a sedan or a four-door hatchback, dubbed the Aveo5. The Aveo5 hatchback in 2LT form also comes with a rear spoiler. The official EPA mileage estimates for the Aveo are respectable for this class, with a manual-equipped example achieving 27 mpg city/35 mpg highway and 30 mpg combined. An Aveo with the automatic transmission drops to 25/34/28 mpg.
With the 2011 Chevrolet Aveo, General Motors is taking its small car destiny in its own hands, bringing its Honda Fit fighter home to America--at least in terms of design and production. We already have a fairly good idea as to how the new Aveo will look thanks to the Aveo RS Concept but these latest spy shots, plus previously released official renderings of the 2011 Chevrolet Aveo Sedan, put an end to most of the guess work.
The 2011 Chevrolet Aveo Hatchback and Sedan are expected to go on sale in January 2011, with production taking place at GM's Orion Township plant in Michigan.
There are two petrol engine options: an 83bhp 1.2-litre and a 99bhp 1.4-litre. The lower-powered unit is competent, but the higher-powered engine is strangled by long gearing between second and third. Both engines are smooth and reasonably quiet even when being revved hard, and wind noise is negligible at UK speeds
The Aveo was Chevrolet‘s best-selling car globally. designed to expand on the nameplate‘s success in the highly competitive small car market.
Redesigned in 2007, the Korean built 2011 Chevrolet Aveo is a sub-compact car that is large on value but small on price. Optional on the Aveo are air conditioning, leatherette seats, power windows and door locks, aluminum wheels and satellite radio. With a lower starting price, the Chevrolet Aveo compares well with competitors Honda Fit and Toyota Yaris.
The 2011 Chevy Aveo is offered in two body styles: a 4-door sedan and a 5-door hatchback known as the Aveo5.

2011 Chevrolet Equinox Overview

The 2011 Chevrolet Equinox is powered by a responsive V-6 or more economical four-cylinder base engine. Significant chassis upgrades help the 2010 Chevrolet Equinox handle better than any previous model.
There's a retractable cargo cover, stretchy net, and two deep cargo wells in back, and the center console well is very deep. Overall, the Chevrolet Equinox is quiet and refined and would make a great highway vehicle for a small family; the ride feels more settled, less pitchy, than former vehicles on this platform—and versus some compact crossover alternatives.
Crash test scores for the Chevrolet Equinox have been stellar, as its safety equipment, and it's been named an IIHS Top Safety Pick. A rear-seat entertainment system, a navigation system, leather seating, heated seats, Bluetooth, steering-wheel audio/phone controls, a sunroof, a rearview camera, and remote start are options.
After last year’s significant and needed improvements to the Equinox, Chevy releases the 2011 model with few new changes. Still doing well in fuel savings thanks to the new engine configurations, the Equinox remains a capable performer that provides a good, capable and comfortable ride no matter which of the two engine choices you choose from. With a starting MSRP of around $23,700, the Chevrolet Equinox is competitively priced within its class. Front wheel drive comes standard on the Chevrolet Equinox, while all wheel drive is available at additional cost. For most people, the 2011 Equinox has more than enough power and capability.
Car Safety Features: Standard traction and stability control, antilock disc brakes, front seat side airbags and side curtain airbags work together to give the 2010 Equinox a perfect five out of five stars in government crash tests and four out of five stars for the rollover rating.
Standard wheel size is 17-inch alloys with an option for a 19-inch alloy wheel upgrade. The Equinox features a one-piece rear liftgate, a single-horizontal-bar grille, raked-forward stance and an overall clean look.
You wouldn’t expect to get much performance out of a I-4 engine in a vehicle as large as the 2011 Equinox, but surprisingly, this engine provides adequate acceleration. Cruising around the city in a 4-cylinder-equipped 2011 Chevrolet Equinox is pleasant. The 2.4-liter 4-cylinder base engine on the 2011 Chevrolet Equinox produces 182 horsepower and 172 pound-feet of torque. The 3.0-liter V6 gets 264 horsepower and 222 pound-feet of torque. There's a whole lot to love about the 2011 Chevrolet Equinox. Like any vehicle, the 2011 Chevrolet Equinox does have its downfalls
Since the Pontiac Torrent and Saturn VUE are now defunct, the Equinox, Terrain, 9-4X and SRX are the only Theta vehicles in America. The 2011 Equinox rides on a longer 112.5 inch wheelbase and benefits from increased interior space over its previous generation. The current generation, which debuted in 2010, features two new direct injected engine options and all Equinox models use a six speed automatic
Our tester was a 2LT with standard front wheel drive and the new, 2.4 liter direct injected DOHC Ecotec four-cylinder. Along with this engine, our Equinox included standard features such as automatic climate control, Pioneer premium eight speaker stereo system with XM radio and MP3 integration, rearview camera, Stabilitrak-stability control, 17 inch alloy wheels and integrated fog lamps. Standard MSRP was $25,970 but our tester featured the optional $1,295 rear seat entertainment system, $495 power lift gate and $800 leather appointed seats. It is not just the seats in the Chevrolet Equinox that create a cozzy interior. Once at highway speed, the Equinox did a fine job at holding steady. Four cylinder Chevrolet Equinox models feature an “Eco Mode” button that manipulates the transmission’s shift patterns in order to increase fuel mileage. “Eco Mode” was partially responsible for our tester’s average fuel mileage of 23 mpg in mixed driving. With comfort and fuel economy checked off the list, the Equinox needs one more plus to become a “triple threat” success story. This Equinox was made to haul around people and it does so very well.
The 2011 Chevrolet Equinox is a very humble vehicle. Competitively priced within its segment, the Equinox does an excellent job at being a mid size crossover SUV.

2011 Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid SUVs

But, again, if you really need the Tahoe Hybrid, reviewers say you’ll be pleased. The Chevrolet Traverse offers similar seating capacity to the Tahoe Hybrid, and while it can’t match the Tahoe Hybrid’s city fuel economy, it beats its highway numbers. Best of all, it costs about $20,000 less than the Tahoe Hybrid.
Facing and addressing this issue head on, General Motors developed the Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid.
As its name implies, the Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid is a full-size SUV with a gasoline/electric powertrain to help boost fuel economy. The EPA gives the two-wheel-drive Tahoe Hybrid a 21 mpg city/22 mpg highway fuel economy estimate, with a combined average of 21 mpg. As with most other full hybrid vehicles, the Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid can accelerate from a standstill to about 30 mph on electricity alone, a major factor in the Tahoe's increased city fuel economy. The Tahoe Hybrid also has aerodynamic add-ons and low-rolling-resistance tires.
The rest of the Chevy Tahoe Hybrid is largely identical to other, well-equipped Tahoe models. In our reviews of the Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid, we've found that it drives very much like a regular Tahoe. The main downsides to the Tahoe Hybrid, however, are price and absolute fuel economy. Used Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid Models
The Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid is the first full-size SUV to utilize a hybrid drive system and offers 33 percent improved fuel economy compared to the standard Tahoe in city driving.
Based on the Tahoe platform, the "Tahoe Hybrid" simply adds Chevrolet's two-mode hybrid system that allows the SUV to be completed powered by an electric motor at low speeds and a 6.0-liter V8 with Active Fuel Management. EPA fuel economy ratings are listed at 21/22 city/highway for two-wheel drive models and an even 20/20 for Tahoe Hybrids equipped with four-wheel drive.

2011 Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid Overviews

The 2011 Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid, and its twin, the GMC Sierra Hybrid, are the only hybrid options for full-size truck buyers. Luckily, most reviewers say the Silverado gives up little capability while chasing fuel economy.
"Compared to the gas-only Silverado, the Silverado Hybrid has a 40 percent increase in city fuel economy, and achieves gas mileage similar to a midsize sedan's. Since the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid" is available in only one body style, its consumer appeal is limited.
The 2011 Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid is available in two well-equipped trims. For 2011, the "Silverado Hybrid" gains enhancements to help reduce wind noise.
The Silverado Hybrid’s impressive around-town fuel economy — typically 6-7 mpg higher than competitive non-hybrids — is arguably the best reason to buy. The two-mode hybrid powertrain on the "2011 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Hybrid" is no small engineering triumph. Even the miserly Silverado XFE is rated just 1 mpg less than the Hybrid’s 23 mpg highway rating, while the standard 5.3-liter V8 Silverado still rates a respectable 21 highway mpg. The 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Hybrid is a full-size crew cab pickup available in either 1HY or 2HY trim.
Available in either two- or four-wheel-drive, the "Silverado 1500 Hybrid" is powered by a 6.0-liter V8. The "2011 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Hybrid" comes standard with stability control, antilock disc brakes and full-length side curtain airbags.

The two-mode "hybrid powertrain on the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Hybrid" is no small engineering triumph. A nickel-metal hydride battery pack (located underneath the rear bench seat) provides the charge for the electric motors, and a regenerative braking system recharges that battery pack during deceleration.
With the" electric motors" kicked in, the combined output is 379 horsepower. Even the miserly Silverado XFE is rated just 1 mpg less than the Hybrid's 23 mpg highway rating, while the standard 5.3-liter V8 Silverado still rates a respectable 21 highway mpg. 2011 Chevy Suburban Reviews

The 2011 Chevy Suburban Large SUVs. The Chevrolet Suburban is one of the longest-running nameplates in the automotive market, and with good reason. The Suburban combines a large and comfortable interior with excellent towing abilities.
Edmunds calls the Suburban "a compelling choice for those who need a traditional full-size SUV with massive passenger, cargo and towing capacities. Though it has space for up to nine people, lots of room for cargo and the ability to tow heavy loads, the Suburban is also a large, thirsty SUV. Like most of the class, the Suburban rides on a truck-based platform. On the road, the Suburban is surprisingly easy to drive. If you need the Suburban's interior space as well as its towing abilities, compare it with the Ford Expedition EL, which has a long wheelbase, like the Suburban.

Though the Tahoe drives well for a large SUV, it still requires extra maneuvering space and driver attention.
