The drophead version of the SLS AMG supercar is scheduled for the official premiere at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show in September. With a long way to go till then, engineers are taking their time to sharply tweak the new model from Affalterbach as to deliver an uber-dynamic driving experience for the future customers. The new SLS AMG Cabriolet is currently enduring the hard, cold weather from Northern Scandinavia, just as the entire fleet of forthcoming Mercedes-Benz cars. The open-top supercar is prone to receive the Gullwing's 6.2 V8 engine, producing a staggering 571 hp of output and a peak torque of 650 Nm, that, in the end, enable the driver to reach a maximum velocity of 317 km/h. To keep overall weight as low as possible, given the fact this version needs extra-rigidity and added body strength, the SLS AMG Cabriolet will receive a classy canvas automated roof, which, for a greater exclusivity, will be offered in various colours to combine with the exterior paint finish.
