2011 Jaguar XJ Supersport Reviews
2011 Jaguar XJ Supersport .a wondrous luxury cruiser--with a serious sledgehammer under the hood. The extra power creates a positively lithe machine, able to tuck into bends without drama and flick back and forth through the lanes without effort. Steady, sporty and strong.
Secure the keys to an XJ Supersport, blindfold your passenger and seat him shotgun, then drive him (with a bit of urgency, mind you) down the nearest stretch of serpentine road. We guarantee you, he won't respond with "Jaguar XJ." In our defense, the XJ Supersport's supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 does churn out 510 horsepower and 461 pound-feet of torque, providing enough urge to propel the XJ from 0 to 60 mph in a claimed 4.7 seconds.
2011 Jaguar XJ Supersport The good: The Bowers and Wilkins stereo in the 2011 Jaguar XJ Supersport produces excellent sound quality, even with low-bit-rate MP3s. The bad: The LCD instrument cluster looks a little flat. The bottom line: The 2011 Jaguar XJ Supersport embodies a high degree of luxury, aided by a stellar audio system.
At the same time, the XJ Supersport is long, 16 feet, 10 inches, with a roomy cabin.
The various buttons feel solid, although Jaguar allowed more plastic pieces in this interior than in the Jaguar XF. Fully digital instruments
In a bold move by Jaguar, the XJ Supersport does away with analog gauges entirely, replacing them with an LCD showing representations of gauges. The left-side dial, which usually shows fuel level and engine temperature, switches to a full-color route guidance display when the car's navigation system is working. Likewise, this dial also shows the current audio source.
For the XJ, Jaguar fixed some of these problems. Also nice is that Jaguar keeps a row of onscreen buttons at the bottom of each screen for access to audio, climate, phone, and navigation.
For us, this Bowers & Wilkins audio system made all types of music extremely pleasurable to listen to in the XJ Supersport.
And the car does not lack for audio sources, bringing in practically every digital device available today. There is Bluetooth streaming audio and there is space on the car's hard drive for music storage.
