2011 Land Rover Range Rover Sport Midsize SUVs

Land Rover Range Rover Sport
First introduced as a 2006 model, the Range Rover Sport shares a platform with the LR4. The supercharged model sports 15-inch discs with six-piston calipers in the front, and 14.3-inch discs with single-piston calipers in the rear.

Because the Range Rover Sport was designed with strong on-road performance in mind, it features the "Dynamic Response" suspension system delivers flat cornering, tight body control, and sharp steering response.

Not much changes for the 2011 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. It's tempting to dismiss the 2011 Land Rover Range Rover Sport as Land Rover Lite, a luxury SUV posturing as the progeny of a line of vehicles with an impeccable off-road heritage. In reality, the Range Rover Sport shares more in common with the former Land Rover LR3 than the top-of-the-line Range Rover. The Sport is almost 8 inches shorter than the Range Rover and offers nearly 2.5 inches less ground clearance. Even if Range Rover Sport owners never go off-road, the Sport is more willing to dirty its boots than most of its competitors.

The 2011 Range Rover Sport is a five-passenger SUV available in HSE and Supercharged trim levels.
A rear-seat entertainment system is available for all models, but adaptive cruise control is optional on the Supercharged only.

Range Rover Sport HSE models are powered by a 5.0-liter V8 that produces 375 hp and 375 pound-feet of torque. All Range Rover Sport models feature full-time four-wheel-drive with a two-speed transfer case and Terrain Response. Properly equipped, Range Rover Sport models can tow up to 7,700 pounds.

The 2011 Land Rover Range Rover Sport is equipped with antilock disc brakes (more powerful Brembo brakes are fitted to the Supercharged model), hill-descent control, front-seat side airbags and full-length side curtain airbags. Supercharged models equipped with an adaptive cruise control system also benefit from a collision mitigation system. Although the Range Rover Sport doesn't radiate the same Old World luxury charm as the more traveled top-line Range Rover, it still feels rich and contemporary. Even though the 2011 Land Rover Range Rover Sport is billed as a more nimble sibling to the top-of-the-line Range Rover, it still weighs about 5,500 pounds, about 1,000 pounds more than an Infiniti FX50.

The 2011 Land Rover Range Rover Sport Midsize SUVs. Reviewers say that the 2011 Land Rover Range Rover Sport offers a great combination of off-road capability and on-road handling and adds an interior that’s pure luxury.

The 2011 Land Rover Range Rover Sport borrows components from a few other models in Land Rover’s stable. The Range Rover Sport also combines Land Rover’s famous off-roading abilities with sportier, pavement-tuned handling. Unfortunately, one of the Range Rover Sport’s only drawbacks comes from its Land Rover parent as well.

2011 Range Rover Evoque Review

Range Rover Evoque
the Range Rover Evoque prototype
What exactly is this new Range Rover Evoque?
The Evoque Range Rover Evoque takes the Range Rover blueprint of a luxurious, capable 4x4, and shrinks it to a footprint fractionally smaller than the new Ford Focus’s. Whereas the heavy Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models necessitate V6 and V8 power, the Evoque’s compact size and a stringent weight optimisation programme deliver a weight range from 1595 to 1700kg.

Enough preamble: let’s drive!
CAR tested a four-wheel drive Range Rover Evoque prototype running the high-output diesel, which produces 187bhp and 310lb ft of torque, and returns 50mpg and emits 149g/km of CO2.
The demonstration drive showcased the Evoque’s Magneride adaptive damping system. The computer-controlled system can change the damping force up to 50 times a second; Land Rover claims third-generation Magneride outperforms the standard damping system at both extremes of the dynamic and comfort spectrums. The Range Rover Evoque steering is nicely judged, light and effortless and reminiscent of a Jaguar’s. Land Rover says 0-60mph takes 9.5secs, but it feels a little quicker.

2011 Land Rover LR2 Reviews

The 2011 Land Rover LR2 is an SUV with a 3.2L V6 engine, capable of putting out 230 hp, coupled with a six-speed automatic transmission.

Safety features are ample for the Land Rover LR2, and include antilock brakes, electronic traction control, dynamic stability control, cornering brake control, emergency brake assist, seven airbags, including side curtain airbags, and roll stability control, which is an ideal feature for anyone considering taking the LR2 off road.

The 2011 Land Rover LR2 does not represent a great departure from previous years' models of the LR2, with its trademark angular design, large square front headlamps, front fender vents, and slightly more rounded edges to soften the extreme linear design of years past. Performance-wise, Land Rover has always had a reputation for high quality, and the LR2 is no exception.

The Land Rover LR2 has an excellent track record in terms of both maintenance and resale value. With a host of safety features, including anti-lock brakes, emergency brake assist and 7 airbags, the Land Rover is suitable for driving families anywhere. Although not particularly fast, the Land Rover is reliable.

Larger Land Rovers have become symbols of success, but they've also become increasingly expensive. The company's answer is the 2011 Land Rover LR2.

The LR2 attempts to deliver the luxury, prestige and relative off-road prowess of the brand's flagship models in a more city-oriented and pocketbook-friendly package. Pleasingly, the LR2 lives up to Land Rover's famous off-road heritage with decent ground clearance, standard all-wheel drive and plenty of electronic aids to help provide superior traction in challenging terrain. Unfortunately, most other newer models have surpassed the 2011 Land Rover LR2 in terms of all-around competence and performance.

The 2011 Land Rover LR2 is a small luxury crossover SUV available in one trim level.
Standard features include 18-inch alloy wheels, a rear spoiler, foglights, a dual-panel sunroof, rain-sensing wipers, rear parking sensors, perforated leather seats, power front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, keyless ignition/entry, a trip computer and a nine-speaker sound system with a six-CD changer and an auxiliary audio jack.

Selecting the HSE package gets you adaptive xenon headlights, satellite radio, Bluetooth and driver seat memory settings. The Climate Comfort package adds a heated windshield, heated washer jets and heated front seats. The 2011 Land Rover LR2 is powered by a 3.2-liter inline-6 that produces 230 hp and 234 pound-feet of torque. All-wheel drive is standard. The 2011 Land Rover LR2 comes with a decent complement of safety features that includes antilock brakes with brake assist, traction and stability control, roll stability control, hill-descent control, front-seat side airbags, full-length side curtain and thorax airbags and a driver's knee airbag.

The 2011 LR2's smooth, luxurious ride is typical for a Land Rover. The LR2 easily bests the competition when it comes to off-road performance, thanks in large part to the model's ground clearance and Terrain Response system.

The LR2 gets a few changes for 2011. The Land Rover LR2 comes only in HSE trim, but you can add the HSE Plus and HSE Lux packages for more features. The LR2 comes standard with all-wheel drive

This is actually just the beginning of this year’s program and includes the entry-level Range Rover Sport TDV6 RSE Signature Edition, the middle-class Range Rover Sport RSE300 and finally their big-boy Range Rover Sport RS600.

We shall start with the Range Rover Sport TDV6 RSE Signature Edition, which comes with a new exterior package, comprised of a fresh front bumper, rear bumper, roof wing, RS twin mesh front grille and a pair of bullet side vent inserts. The vehicle rides on Kahn 22-inch RSL alloy rims.
