Range Rover Evoque is like a trendy

It feels more like a saloon than it does a traditional Land Rover.
Which brings us to challenge number one: making the smallest Land Rover product share the characteristics of its biggest one. "We want the Evoque to feel agile and fun," says Cross, "yet it also has to be refined, with Range Rover levels of sophistication."

Nonetheless, this Range Rover is, ultimately, still a Land Rover product and has to perform off-road. "With a tall car the challenge is getting good roll control with an appropriate level of comfort for a Range Rover. The physics of a tall car are against you," says Cross.

Cross drives smoothly yet briskly, with measured steering inputs. The Evoque gets electric power steering, which comes with benefits and drawbacks. "EPAS is good," says Cross. Any remaining tweaking between now and the Evoque's summer launch is mostly software-related.
IMAGINE a Range Rover capable of nearly 50mpg and with the CO2 emissions of a supermini.
The Evoque handles like a sporty coupé, not a 4x4, but with the ride, comfort and sophistication you'd expect from a Range Rover.

Even at low speeds, it's petrol quiet. It's fitted with Land Rover's latest stop/start technology that automatically cuts the engine in traffic to boost the fuel economy and help reduce CO2 emissions to just 159g/km.

The engine is smooth and instantly responsive, especially if you use the F1-style paddles on the steering wheel that allow you to switch from auto to manual changes to maximise the Evoque's handling.

My test drive across the Welsh countryside, with the firm's handling guru Mike Cross at the wheel, left me in no doubt that Land Rover have motoring's newest phenomenon.
The Evoque is no fashion poser but an authentic Range Rover in every way, but in my view the most fun to drive.

The firm already have a waiting list of thousands of orders from all over the world - the public have been captivated by the car.

When you step inside the Evoque it is like a trendy, shrink-wrapped Range Rover. From the sumptuous stitched leather to the brushed aluminium trim, it oozes quality.
The Evoque is another good news story for British jobs as it's creating 1,000 new ones at Land Rover's Halewood factory.

Murray Dietsh, is the man leading the team that has to deliver Land Rover's most important vehicle ever.

It will be a Range Rover that people aspire to. urray added: "This vehicle shifts the 4x4 mindset.
Land Rover is set to unveil its electric powered vehicle at this year’s Geneva Motor Show.
Land Rover will also show off its keenly-anticipated Range Rover Evoque in both coupe and five-door forms, as well as the latest versions of the Discovery 4 and Range Rover.

The technology-packed Range_e is one of several working prototypes currently being developed at Land Rover’s design and engineering centre at Gaydon.

It is based on a Range Rover Sport and features a standard 3.0 litre TDV6 diesel with an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission. It has a range of 20 miles on purely electric power, a top speed of around 120mph and a range of 690 miles. On press day at the show Land Rover will announce European pricing for the Evoque but UK prices will not be revealed until April.

Gerry McGovern, Land Rover design director said: “Customers like to make their own unique statement with a vehicle and we have provided individuals with lots of opportunity to personalise their new Range Rover Evoque, whilst maintaining the essence of the design.”

Range Rover Sport Premium new interior package

While British-tuner Projet Kahn might be best-known for its wheel designs and aero packages for Land Rover models, the company also has a close working relationship with engine tuner Cosworth.

In the past Cosworth has worked on tweaking the powerplants in models like the Range Rover Sport and now they plan to expand their expertise to the new Evoque model.

Known all over the world for its unique wheel designs and body kits for luxury cars and SUVs, Project Kahn teases us with a picture of their newly-modified Range Rover Evoque.
Project Kahn is now offering a new interior package for the Range Rover Sport Premium Edition. Both the front and the rear seats feature a combination of quilted and standard leather (we are taking about perforated Nappa leather). The quilted parts come in a black finish. As for the rest, there are two stripes of perforated leather that come finished in blue. This uses an analog layout, a blue background, an aluminum finish for the casing and comes with jewelry decorative elements.

In line of that, they’ve now released a styling program for the 2010 Range Rover Sport
Looking evil in black, the tuned "Range Rover Sport" comes with an aggressive front fascia, LED daytime running lights, 22 inch light-alloy wheels and a revised rear apron with integrated exhaust pipes and a removable section that provides easy access to the trailer hitch.

The interior then gets a sport steering wheel, stainless-steel scuff plates with Startech logos, aluminum pedals and special floor mats.

Startech has the coolest body kit for the Range Rover Sport. The interior package includes stainless-steel scuff plates with illuminated STARTECH logo, high-quality floor mats with color-coordinated leather borders, and aluminum pedals. Range Rover Evoquefive-door's cabin is roomy enough for taller drivers

2012 Range Rover Evoque
The crossover will come in your choice of the newly revealed 4-door or a previously introduced coupe. Discuss.

Chic and sleek. In driving terms, that translates into having the visibility of a space capsule.
The most design-led product ever to emerge from the Range Rover studios, the forthcoming Range Rover Evoque is intended to take Range Rover into upmarket city streets, finally shaking off any lingering SUV-style stigma attached to the urbanised four wheel drive vehicle.

The latter quality might be Land Rover's stock in trade, but things are changing fast. The Evoque has always been a fashion-focused machine, ever since the design debuted as 2008's elegant LRX concept. The road to production-readiness has been remarkably smooth, and only the eagle-eyed will spot key differences between the original LRX and the showroom Evoque (try a similar exercise with the Range Stormer concept and the Range Rover Sport model it eventually sired and you'll get a very different result).

I was impressed with the Land Rover LRX concept when it debuted a few years ago. It was an athletic-looking crossover that had quite a bit of presence despite its relatively small footprint. The production version of that concept, the Range Rover Evoque, is finally here, and it maintains the concept's rakish looks without unduly compromising passenger space.

The Range Rover Evoque's design is instantly appealing. The crossover has a wide, low-slung shape that's decidedly not Land Rover, which has been churning out tall, boxy SUVs for years. The automaker sees the Evoque competing with other luxury crossovers like the BMW X3 and Volvo XC60, but I think the Land Rover's styling blows those two away.

For a small crossover, the front of the Range Rover Evoque five-door's cabin is roomy enough for taller drivers, but the bucket seats are quite narrow; when I sat down in the driver's seat I was sitting on the side bolsters. I was surprised by the amount of room in the Range Rover Evoque five-door's backseat. More and more luxury brands have entered the small crossover segment in recent years. The LR2 has been Land Rover's entrant in the segment, but the Range Rover Evoque five-door seems like it has the potential to leave a much bigger mark.

2012 Range Rover Evoque

Land Rover has issued the full spec on the new Range Rover Evoque five-door. Land Rover calls the three-door Evoque a coupe aimed at singletons or young couples; the five-door is pitched at young families with one or two children.

How exactly is the five-door Range Rover Evoque different?

The five-door comes with three rear seats, as opposed to the coupe’s 2+2 seating layout.

The SUV will be offered in 3 or 5 door variants. The 5 door variant adds 30 mm of height and 50 mm of shoulder space for rear passengers.

The 3 and 5 door models come standard with front wheel drive, but all wheel drive is optional.

Like the coupe, the five-door Range Rover Evoque remains faithful to the spirit of the groundbreaking Land Rover LRX concept car, offering an innovative new interpretation of the original coupe design.

The five-door Range Rover Evoque also stays true to the core values of the Range Rover brand, providing premium levels of craftsmanship, luxury, performance and renowned Land Rover multi-terrain capability, but in a more compact package.
Coupe style and five-door versatility

The five-door "Range Rover Evoque" offers an exciting new interpretation of the LRX concept car design, combining the dramatic stance and dynamic appeal of the original cross-coupe with the enhanced functionality offered by a five-door format.
"The five-door Range Rover Evoque has the same strong emotional appeal as the coupe, while offering superior versatility," said Land Rover Design Director, Gerry McGovern.

The more spacious interior of the five-door Range Rover Evoque has been achieved without enlarging the compact footprint of the coupe model: the overall length and width remain identical.
Impeccably crafted luxury interior

Beneath its dramatic exterior, the five-door Range Rover Evoque provides customers with an impeccably crafted luxury cabin, with the same premium quality materials and elegant design expected from a Range Rover interior.

The Range Rover Evoque allows customers to specify a lavishly appointed cabin with soft, premium leather providing a luxurious finish to almost every surface of the instrument panel, doors and seats, with beautifully tailored twin-needle stitching.

While the 3-door version appeared on the Land Rover stand, 5-door version was unveiled through a simple picture that makes us appreciate the plastic still attractive Evokes Range Rover 5-door version.

Nothing very important to tell you for now except that this version of "family" or at least more easily accessible at the rear resume exactly the range of engines and finishes of the 3-door version. Range Rover Evoque has perhaps the most striking appearance among asphalt SUVs premium brands. Is it fair to call it a "coupe"? Perhaps, amid Mercedes GLK he really would look exactly like touring coupe in the background: "Englishman" by almost 18 cm shorter than the "German" and 6 cm below. However, it is expected that next year will have Evoque and five-door version, which, judging from the spy shots, taken at the extended platform.

The quality of materials in the cabin and the wealth of equipment, few can compete with small Reyndzh Rover. In the center console built a display that can show different (!) Image driver and front passenger. One thing - the navigation, another - the movie. And it's a full home theater on wheels: the cabin dispersed 17 speakers. If desired, for the rear passengers can order an 8-inch screens. If the driver does not want to sound cinema distract him from the road, he can distribute satellite wireless headphones. For an extra charge you can get all the most advanced options. For example, the role of the PDC system can perform circular view with five digital cameras.

The model looks very fast, but to call it a "sports crossover" will still be an exaggeration. The base diesel engine capacity of 2.2 liters, inherited from the Land Rover Freelander, depending on version develops 150 hp or 190 By the standards of crossovers, it's average. For those who want it hot, it is recommended to take the version with 240 horsepower gasoline engine (2 liter turbo). However, this is not a record for power in the classroom. At Audi Q5 is a modification with 3,2-liter "six" (270 hp), BMW X3 and the new generation got 306-horsepower engine. Here's a really fast crossover!

The fact that the famous "non-road" mark the first time begins to produce front-wheel drive versions, in general, is no longer a sensation. Such Freelander presented in August. For a glamorous Evoque it even more logical. Although front-wheel drive will have only the basic versions. A 190 - and 240-hp version - only four-wheel drive.
